yah i mean the thing to keep in mind is that when the 56 came out, DVS was an infant teck-mology with final scratch just being released. so most djs either 1) had 2 x 1200s and a 2 channel mixer, which if you could get one the 56 was king, and most people rocking stanton mixers wishing they were vestax, or 2) cdjs AND 1200s and a djm 4 channel.

either way im still not calling the 56 as not living up to the name, i got one when they first came out and have never thought of replacing it once. i mean ive thought of upgrading now a days, but why? it still cuts like a guillotine so....

all im trying to express is i dont think the mixer will be a disappointment in any respect, or the new scratch mixer for that matter. if you throw down on a rane, whatever the right style for you might be, you are going to love it. not many companies im going to say this about.they just dont make crap ever. and if there is ever an issue, they have real people, right there, hands on, voice on the phone , supporting you.

For one... The Mojo series wasn't all that hot. I know they were lower end, but still.
Just because you had a good experience with one particular model doesn't mean every model will be perfect.
The A&H DB2 is great with some computers, but won't work with certain MacBook Pros... But, yet most of their stuff is amazing.
No company is perfect. All I suggest is to wait and see how it performs and where the downfalls may be (if any).

I've been around long enough to know being the first to buy the latest and greatest can also make you the first to experience the growing pains.

All this being said... I hope this thing lives up to its potential. Rane has proven they make solid gear.
I definitely want one... The layout is perfect, knobs seem properly spaced for my fat fingers, and has all the features I would want. If it sounds as good as a 2016, and works flawlessly with Traktor and old analog gear, and the controls are as smooth as the 2016... I'm grabbing it.

im sorry because im not intending to come off as super rane fanboy , but again the mojo series was amazing for the price point. you could not find a better 2 channel mixer for sound quality or fader quality for 300-400 bucks. youd still be hard pressed to find a better mixer for the money and its 10 years later.

Default This mixer is the best:)

I recognize I have a very bias opinion since I work for Rane and the MP2015 is my baby in part, but I've also been DJing since 95 and have played on just about every mixer out there.
The MP2015 is even better than people can imagine by looking at tech sheets and the initial breakdowns online. The sound, the feel, the filters, the ISO, and especially the Submix make this mixer stand WAY apart from everything that is out there.
I've been using a prototype at home for the past three months and was FINALLY able to take it out to a live show last Friday. I played the best set I've ever played due to the ability to group multiple decks in Traktor to the Submix and the control you get with the filters. I had four tracks/loops going at all times and had absolute control of the mix. The Submix was something I REALLY needed in a mixer ever since diving into multi deck mixing.
The filters sound AMAZING especially when running the mixer at 96k.
The only thing the DB4 has over the MP2015 is their built in effects but I, for one, am extremely content using Traktor's effects and if I ever needed extra effects I would get an outboard effect unit. The MP2015 was designed as an intuitive mixing instrument. No bells and whistles... just everything a mixing technician needs.

Its exciting to see the buzz this mixer has created thus far but its really exciting for us (Rane) to know that people are really gonna lose their sh*t once they actually get a chance to play on it.

I agree with many posts here in saying its almost always a good idea to wait until people start using a new product in the field before making a decision to buy a new unit but I have a 110% confidence that almost everyone currently using a Pioneer or Allen and Heath will switch to this mixer once the jury is out. Its that good.

Feel free to hit me up with any questions any of you have. I'm happy to answer them

I'm interested in how the MP2015 sounds digitally in and digitally out compared to the DJM900nxs2, DB4, and DN-X1700.

I know it sounds better than the pioneer. Don't know about the others, though people have said the 2015 sounds just as good as Bozaks and Ureis after having decades of experience on those classic mixers which are regarded as sounding impeccable.

what do you mean how it sounds "digitally in and out"? If you're not converting the digital information to analog first, it doesn't sound like anything If you're talking about the digital outputs, then you're presumably bypassing the conversion in the mixer, which means it sounds like whatever converter you run it through. So if you go digital out to your laptop soundcard, it will sound like your laptop soundcard.
