all they need is the 4 channel mixer, hopefully with 8 hot cues and loops controls for each channel, but even if its just a big version of the z2, you still just rock out the 2 NI x1s ..the modular approach just works for me because i work mostly right hand on record, so id want all my midi controls between the mixer and the left table, rather than one on each side which makes it a far reach.

im keeping my soundcard and current set up as back up,plus really still like it.
the one thing that turns me off off AnH is the extremely cramped cross-fader area.

I checked out the native instruments website list of certified mixers and I was expecting to see more. Are there some they are not listing? Which mixer can be had at the lowest second hand price? I'm kind of debating switching my audio 10 and djm-707 for something with less cables.

No, that is all. They pretty much stopped certifying mixers when they decided to do their Z2 (I know that becuse they fucked over Denon's X600 because of that) except for some Pioneer stuff (for which Pioneer probably had to shell out some big bucks).
There are some workarounds if you really need to use timecode though

Also, I'm surprised how many DJ don't really know what "traktor certified" means. They believe you can't use a mixer with traktor unless it's certified. Whack.

im in it for the DVS, and the smaller DJ booth footprint... i always carry my own stuff, so one less device to hook up, loose, become disconnected while playing, and less cables to worry about.

If you need vinyl feel for your dj needs, that ok by me.
But...I fail to see how is it better to bring an entire mixer into a venue versus bringing a NI Audio 4,6,8,10 card and plugging into a existing club mixer.

Slightly OT, but can you expand on this?? I am using an older version of Traktor (2.1/2.2 somewhere around there) as it's what I've always used, is rock solid and does everything I need it to. If I suddenly wanted to upgrade to a newer version for some reason, would the X600 not work as a Traktor certified mixer (By selecting x1600 in the prefs as I do now)??

No, nothing would change as far as I know. X600 uses the same ASIO drivers in Win OS and internal sound interface (-2 channels) as X1600 so Traktor can't differentiate between the two, no matter what the Traktor version. Good job Denon haha.
Still, I believe since it was marketed towards scratch users who mainly use timecode, the lack of the official "traktor certified" stamp killed it (not to mention slashing the prices of DJM-T1 and Z2 on few occasions).

I am curious though, will the certification for non-NI mixers be keept in all of future Traktor versions? Does it have a expiration date in years from certification or in major Traktor versions? Those things we'll have to wait and see unless someone with inside knowledge leaks it. Anyone?
