It's an audiophile thing, something to do with the travel of audio.. (doesn't make any reasonable sense to me) and in a DJ capacity, I personally have never seen this to be a proven marker of better audio regardless of what way it's connected.
I have seen markings on cables that symbolize direction, but you'd be as well sticking an adidas logo or something on the side for the good it's going to do in a DJ capacity - ESPECIALLY if you are a Beginner.. or getting your first system.
But do remember, that your system is only as good as it's weakest link.

The solution is I'm going to get rid of these when I can afford to a go with a quality brand name.

That said, they did appear markedly louder and deeper when I put the cables in their so called "proper direction"
and I just wasn't going to comment on that due to forthcoming "make fun of me" that such comment would bring.

Also I opened them and looked around inside but couldn't tell if anything was wrong. There's a whole lot of heavy crap in there, that's for sure.

Of course I'm still waiting on my cable tester to arrive, so there's always the possibility that I just happened to plug the 2 properly working cables in (if any are bad) Again they're all new. Also I have a crossover coming. These aren't supposed to need one, but that's more low budget BS. I can hear high notes coming from them. Ok, muted high notes, but still...

So... in conclusion... I'm just gonna bend over and take this lesson and buy something better next time.

    Good luck.

But like I said before, if you put two subwoofers next to each other facing the same direction they will always sound louder when combined than separately.

Unless they are wired backwards or the amp settings are set out of phase.

Yep. I don't have a gig lined up yet for me to put them together, (not enough room in my tiny home) but I will definitely try that next time.

And if you don't have time to fix the wiring you can try reversing it in the cable.

Or if you place the speakers back to back [>][<] they should sound louder. It's not always necessary to "aim" subwoofers at the audience.

Low bass travels in all directions. Even behind the subwoofer.

Pull one of the drivers out of the cab and switch the wires around. You will notice a difference for better or worse.

Also, subs need to be placed together or they will cancel each other out at certain frequencies.
