I've never bought into the idea that a product needs to be everything to everybody, so keeping things simple initially was key. So no, there's no audio interface built into the MM-1. We'll see if that makes it into a V2 product.
Lol, already talking v2 before v1 is released!

It will be years before we make those kinds of updates to the CMD line, so you might be waiting a while.![]()
I've heard good things about version 3, will they be out before christmas?

Frankly, I am not going to attack nem0nic on this.
It's pretty obvious Behringer is going to "re-introduce" the units at NAMM 2013 and CES 2013...then have a release date set in stone. If they don't then I think they'll have lost all interest from the market...as well as trust.
I know I'd be hesitant, simply out of concern if they do not work well, or if they do poor sales and thus Behringer dumps the line after a year.
I'm not going to ask, but I am also not going to be surprised if competitors roll out their own versions of this...and worse steal the potential market share. Native Instruments only needs to make a jogwheel component and thus one could make the full setup with a traktor-ready functionality.

They won't be able to match Behringer on price though. I'd actually welcome it tbh, more choices the better. Competition benefits the consumer![]()

I agree completely.I'd actually welcome it tbh, more choices the better.
The mistake many people outside of the industry make is that this is somehow a zero-sum game, and that there is only room in the market for one or two players. Everyone sees it as either-or. That isn't at all how the business actually is. There are lots of companies making money selling product. There isn't a "winner" out there, and if you tried to assign one based on what you've gleaned from forums and your limited view of the industry, you'd most certainly get that guess wrong.I'm not going to ask, but I am also not going to be surprised if competitors roll out their own versions of this...and worse steal the potential market share.
Fact is that there's plenty of business out there for companies like NI and Numark, AND Behringer. Not only that, but our target market for CMD is not at all the target market for something like the F1. And this is what gives me the most confidence in the CMD controller line. Not only do the controllers fill niches that other controllers miss, but they all work together in a system that eliminates the question of "Does thing X work with thing Y?". And as the CMD line fills out, that will only get more true.
Finally, I've said this many times before. I would take it as a compliment if another company came out with CMD. It would not only validate what I've believed for ages (that a modular approach to controllers is valid), but it would help sales of other modular products.
