BTW I kinda like Oldtimerism... It obviously hit home with some of you folks on here.

Mate your clearly a wanker. What do you expect the DJ to do? Magicly rise the cd wallet to his face and telleport the correct song to the cdj?
I'm confused as to why you are taking things so seriously.

Thanks for the welcome sarasin!
It's cool, I got it. I will defend myself. I like how people are getting all a lather about this i think it's funny. What I don't like are sanctimonious jerks who act like theirs is the one true opinion. I fart in your direction! LOL!

alright i think the real argument is this:
digital djs should be more inclined to put on a show than vinyl djs, because they dont have to dig through crates (unless you use serato, and then "crates" still doesn't require back-turning).
right?
would you also say that it's a poor show if the dj has to take a piss in the middle of a long set? surely not. and that's something both vinyl and digital djs face.
either way, i think we should all calm the fuck down. this is getting to be the age-old debate of analog vs digital. and we all know how that (doesn't) end(s).

djhipnotikk I am disagree about this being an analog versus digital thing. I am talking strictly about performance here. People spend their hard earned money to see us play, we should give them a show. Turning your back to the crowd for longer than a few moments just shouldn't cut it. Maybe that was the way things had to be done back in the day but we are in the year 2010 people. When is it time to move the ball down the field a bit? Hanging on to the past is just that, hanging on. Come on you wouldn't be pissed to see your favorite band play your favorite tune of theirs from behind a curtain? I think it's time to step it up.

tbh, i just don't get it. when i played vinyl i would turn my back for a few moments. didn't kill the floor
in all the nights i've been to, i've only watched the dj if he is doing something that catches my attention, if i look up and he's diggin in his crate, big deal. he needs to do that.
2 questions;
what do you go to nights for? is it for the music or to watch the dj?
do you honestly think that because you 'squint' at a laptop screen instead of looking in a crate/wallet etc... that you're better than someone who has to dig?
also, get that shit out of your signature, not going to help you on here, especially when you used it as a slate, ffs
i don't see the relevance... sorry just don't. band behind a curtain is completely different to dj turning his back to select a track for a for moments.
This thread thread is getting to be more annoying than the iPad DJ threads.
I wish there was a hide function like facebook so I won't be tempted to
look at the trainwreck every time it gets pulled the top.
