I wasn't arguing the technical merits of Between the Buried and Me, but more commenting on how they push the musical boundaries by technical prowess (because you commented that Techno is what pushes the boundaries) misunderstanding not withstanding, here is where dj battling takes live ability and technical prowess, and saying that being limited musically doesn't help you get across your point musically is pretty disingenuous and should never be used, steve vai said it best "you don't want to learn Modal theory because it gets in the way of your song. get the fuck out of here" he was speaking of the grunge movement (and Nirvana in particular) to guitar for the practicing musician in I 92.
