I still don't understand the "no PC can do this" mentality...

PC's have a proven track record for mission critical applications (have you been to a hospital lately?!?!?!) It could be argued that Traktor is far from being a clinical application, but how is it that I've been DJing on a PC since Final Scratch 1.0 (yes, the round one) without so much as a single glitch. (dirty stylus' and drunken clubbers elbowing the decks notwithstanding)

Not hating on Macs, but let's call a spade a spade... I guarantee macs have had their fair share of issues... a quick search will prove that.
ok this can be argued for days.. mac are industry standard for a reason
Macbook Pro - Kontrol S2 - Kontrol X1 - Traktor Pro 2 - Fool’s Gold x AIAIAI TMA-1 (for gigs) AKG 271hd (for studio and recording) on the way: DJM 800 with 2 CDJ 2000s

You're right, it can be argued for days... but I'm not arguing that the Mac isn't the standard... but your comment doesn't help the OP by implying that there are no other options, when in fact there are. Personally I feel that once I switch Traktor to full screen, it could be an Amiga for all I care, as long as it stays up (which my D830 does with no issue)...

The rule is "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" not "if it ain't broke, buy what everyone else has so you can say you have the same thing". I run Logic on my mac since after buying Locic, apple killed off the PC version. (which makes good business sense I guess). I have to use both for collegues using "the standard"

No hate here... I say, work with what you know. The worst thing that can happen is that you can't get your track/mix on because the technology is in the way.

...having said all that, I think PC's are enjoying an all time high for price/performance ratios right now, and the software developers haven't appeared to choose one platform over the other (except the whole apple/final cut/logic thing)

Let's have a "Mac VS PC debate" free year!

    Happy New Year to all!!

For the love of god, can everyone please stop suggesting that I get a Mac? I don't want one. I already own one, and I don't feel like paying the Mac tax again.

And it's a Core Duo vs. a Core 2 Duo. And there are PC laptops still running Core 2 Duos that are running Win 7 just fine now.

I can tell you that a C2D runs Windows 7 just fine with everything turned on.

What "industry"? Would that be the "DJ Industry"?
