The top DJs use one of 3 systems: Serato, Ableton, or Traktor.

    That's it.

I use Traktor Pro personally, could give a care about Torq. Just wanted to point out that *somebody* uses it. DJ Revolution is a beast!

    Happy New Beer!

well, to cover travis's back here a bit ive registered right now and try to explain a few things What you said is so right chilly serato ableton and traktor are the most used dj tools, however i think its like coke and pepsi they are the most popular drinks, however some people prefer the shit coke from 7eleven, other never tried anything else because they think coke or pepsi is good enough etc.
with dj products its like with anything. first you look what other people are using. Thats the number one reason why serato is so successful. even though serato is probably not the best dj software, the most of the people who are using it are satisfied with it. its like german cars. everyone thinks they are awesome, but if you look at failure statisitcs etc, they are not. they were awesome twenty years ago, and this thought is burned into the peoples brains. if you look at serato at the beginning. it wa smuch superior to the traktor stanton final scratch combo. it was simply the best dj emulation software on the market, and thats what most of the people still believe. i think everyone knows where this is going and you can argue as much as you want. however i think you shouldnt judge a sfotware without using it. i personally would like to have the smart ideas implemented in traktor (cables, awesome soundcard, neat relative mode solution with leadin etc) the good approaches of serato (awesome database, nice waveform display) and the good things about torq (midi beat clock on the deck, nice waveform with beatgrids tempo anchors, awesome ms pinky splatter matter vinyls so for me there is no solution on the market which covers all this. but to be honest i think it will be native isntruments at the end of the day with the best product. just not yet....

Who cares what top dj's use. The software is not whats`making them top dj's, I've been waiting for a few things to get sorted out in Torq, like the data base. but I think its an awesome program. Samples, quick scratch, the effects, the midi assignments(still cant touch traktor, but the learning curve is low). It has tons of things I wish Traktor had. My self I really hate I have invested so much time in Traktor ( a company that dont give a darn about your work flow when it comes to upgrades)
