I'm using a Dell XPS 15 with an Audio 8 and VCI 100. The only thing I have to do is create a power profile that disables all power saving and make sure that the soundcard is plugged in on the right hand side USB port.

It's far cheaper than an Apple and it's got a much, much nicer screen than you can get on a Mac.
