Looks really sweet man. I still don't understand why there are no decent mixer + buttons only style controllers on the market.

LAZERNOIZE Latest Gig Recording (50Min. of Trap+Dubstep)
i thin the controller that he stripped for the brains already has this feature
No I'm right handed so that's a good point you just madeYou left handed? Cause thats what the controller seems like it would be more to. How much would u sell this ECM for?but like I said before it was a practice session so it doesn’t really matter that much.
I want to keep these 2 faceplates but if you want something making let me know.
I won't be using them in this particular project. I'm still trying to come up with a design that I'm 100% happy with for the deck sections.I'm loving the build, are u gonna use those midifighter style things though or are u gonna build different deck segments ??
I've got 2 prototype 7" platters made up and ready to go but need to decide what else I want to add.
I would love to just go for it and put a mini ITX computer in along with a couple of lcd screens too
Thanks man. I use Corel Draw for designs and templates.sweet project bro, but you don't need me to tell you that! what program did you use to make your tempate? and tell me it's NOT photoshop CS2 (what we have in college)..
OUT. . . .FRIGGIN. . . .STANDING. . . .OVATION!!!!Nastiiiiiii! Would love to be the owner of this wonerful piece of art!
BIG UPS BROthis is so good that its......its.....its....
its better than duct tapeAhhh you guys are too kind - Thank you.Wow . . . You're a boss! One day I will attempt something this ambitious (by my standards) and hope to have all my fingers remaining after completion.
In all seriousness, your midi controller would turn heads at an auto show. All the best with the final build.
I still plan on doing a little video but in the meantime here are a few images.any luck with some photos? :P
don't be shy with the videos... doesn't need any talking over the top... just something showing how you cut the holes and what tools you use
These are the main bits I used
From left to right.....
1, Router template cutting bit. (1/2" shank)
2, Router 3.2mm straight cutting bit (1/4" shank)
3, 24mm Forstner drill bit.
4, HSS drill bit 8mm
5, HSS drill bit with depth stop attached.
6, HSS drill bit 3mm
7, Router v-groove (countersink bit 1/4" shank)
When I made the mdf template for my midi controller I used the forstner bit to make the holes for the arcade buttons. I also used the same bit on the black acrylic.
For the red one I decided to make a template out of some scrap 10mm acrylic so that cutting banks of arcade buttons in the future will be a piece of cake
And here is the jig I made for cutting the fader slots.
No I'm using the brains of my Xponent although I will be making use of those 18 pots and faders on the Nanokontrol soon.Very interested to see how this turns out. Were you using the Nanokontrol as the brain for this?
Lol thanks againYour practice runs make my final attempts look like a 3 year olds coloring book. Would you be willing to part with the black one?
I'm keeping both the midi fighter style face plates for sentimental reasonsbut Like I said to Chris if you want me to design and make you a faceplate just get in touch.
My thoughts exactly.Looks really sweet man. I still don't understand why there are no decent mixer + buttons only style controllers on the market.
+1 Love this design!this is awesome.Once again Big Thanks guys.this big spacy design is great!
When I first started to wire things up on this project I used cat 5 cable that a friend had given me for free ( 300m) The cable was the single core type.
I soon realised that when bunched together these wires were too stiff and decided to stop and order something more suitable
Also the knobs that I ordered for the filters are a bit bigger than I expected
I might sink them into the faceplate?
Last image for today.
Determining the overall slot size to eliminate dead space on either side of the crossfader.
