After having an S4 (mines now sitting in my studio redundant) i would say go with something smaller. Try loads of things out, inc the S4, it might be what you need. But from my experience, the S4 is too big for gigging with. Getting a good bag big enough, fitting it in some dj booths, taking it on planes, there's always something that's a pain with the S4. That's just my opinion, i'm not hating on anyone that's got one.

I currently use 2 X1's and a DJM 900. That's it. No set up hasstle or anything. I do like the look of the Twitch controller, seems a lot more compact than the S4, although Twitch obviously has no on board soundcard so it's back to the hassle of using an interface if you opt for Twitch.

Twitch does have an onboard soundcard, with balanced output, booth out and aux input, along with both sizes of headphone port for cueing:

Come on, it's an itch controller. Of course it's going to have a sound card built in.

aha! my apologies! That's really good news, does anyone know what the quality of the soundcard is like?

It strikes me that Twitch is basically an S4 but smaller and without jog wheels - which is a god send in my opinion. If the soundcard is quality on it then i'll get one me thinks.

24bit, 48khz, loud enough in the cans to hurt your ears. Can't really comment on overall quality cos I didn't have it in a quiet environment.

I doubt novation will be skimping on the audio interface to be honest.
