Understood! I'm on a bit of a kick at the moment to streamline, customise, buff and wax my set up so that I can make an honest to God go at getting some gigs or collaborating with some folks once I move to Dublin at the end of summer. There's a whole lot of nothing happening in my home town for....ever.

Well the Replay Gain setting can't do any harm, so it's still not wasted time at least!

Just open up 2 copies on PN - then select half of your mp3 files and start analyzing. Then in the other instance open up the other half of the mp3's and start analyzing.

    thanks man

read your comments about the compression issue - without reopening this thread too much and going over the same ground ... did you reach a conclusion ?

havent touched trak pro for a month but opened it tonight and really enjoyed myself - just downloaded the update and hopefully things are a little more stable

What Moniker said - there is a quality loss but its not huge, so its not too much of a big deal.

Any of you guys know if any of these apps. can analyze a track and find the key, and then automaticly write the key in the id3 tag?

And another thig; why dosent it show in traktors "comment field" (in the track browser) if I edit the "comment field" in the id3 tag, directly in the track from eg. windows (and vice versa)?

cant say for these but this definately works using rapidevolution's mixshare. it analyses then when you select write it will write the key info to teh key field and show in traktor.

You have to actually select to write tags once analysed though. It doesnt do it automatically.

This is correct, RE will analyse and approximate the key.

If only I could get mine to work! Bento, you ever had a 'decoder not found' error when trying to analyse key in RE? I get the error whenever I try to on ALL my mp3s. I thought at first that MP3Gain APEv.2 added tags might be the problem, so wiped them but to no avail. I installed the latest version of QuickTime too, but the problem remains.

    Yeah it works for me.

Have a question: In RE2 i chose the key format to be "key code" and it shows the key in this format alright (example: 2B). I then write the id3 tag and check the track in Traktor and here it is shown in another format. Traktor shows F# instead of 2B.
Any of you guys now how to make Traktor show the "key code" format (the 2B) instead of the "sharp" format (F#)?
