Good thing I came in to the DJ scene when midi controllers were first being marketed for DJ'ing use. Beacuse I don't reallty care about using the technologies that are given to you and I don't think back to the good ol days...

I don't think clubbers worry about digital music releases and vinyl being pure and so on and so on -- mostly they want to have a good time and if not they leave the dance floor.

When mixer, turntable and cd player manufactures are putting BPM read-outs on everything, it's tough for new DJ's to avoid using them as a crutch. I used to keep a roll of black electrical tape with me for the specific purpose of covering up any lights or read-outs that displayed this info. I find them very distracting and not very accurate.

That's my point...how many of us can dj without computers "sync" or bpm?...I'm not saying tech is bad I'm saying there is a different quality of djs now
