i think taking attention away from putting together the best possible for mix for the crowd in front of you to dance and wave your hands in the air is a direct insult to the people who paid to hear you play.

For me I feel like I have to sit when I'm doing configuration stuff: setting up mappings, organizing samples, stuff like that. But the rest of the time I find it vastly preferable to stand. It's pretty essential to get a good laptop stand, too (I use the stanton uberstand.)
