I definitely like the look of Traktor much more, but I couldn't say one is better than the other by just looks. I would have to get my hands on it and try. I do like the parallel waveforms however.

you should try to find a guitar center or something in your area. heh thats how i make half my purchases - try it a guitar center... and then buy it offline from a cheaper retailer

I use serato most of the time for gigs, but I do like the benefit of traktors flexible midi mapping for the all-in-one DVS / controller software solution.
That being said; once my Twitch controller arrives I am looking forward to having a similar interface for both mediums.

Just like using CDs, without having to lug around a few folders, and having to burn off tracks every week.

    Plus, i love the crates

? click the midi button, click the control to map, move the corresponding control on the x1.....how hard is that? Or are you trying to do something different?

Default So.. Im switching to serato tonight

I want to switch to serato but I don't want to go through the hassle of sellin my dn x1600 and getting a new mixer and sl box. I don't really use traktor fx anymore and enjoy mixing out of the box. I never use more than 2 decks + sample decks and really just want a more simple layout.

Then SSL is for you man. I have a much more enjoyable time playing on Serato for the reasons you just stated. Test the market for your mixer and see what you can get?

Why get a new mixer? Couldn't you just get a SL-box and hook it up to your x1600?

    I don't get you guys...

Going from Torq or Traktor to Serato must feel like a massive step backwards.

Aren't you limited by what you can map ?!

If you enjoy it more then good for you. Just seems mad to throw away all the possability's of Traktor for something with a lot less on offer but for more money.

You can do exactly the same in Traktor/Torq its just more full on than Serato.

Seems a little mad to loose the functionality you get from TSP for less control with Itch / Serato.

Doesn't Itch have some issues with Crates & the browser vanishing ? Did they sort that?

However I am a Serato Hater. I've used it, it works. Woop next...
Just don't ever get any problems with it & need to ask a Question on thier forum.
