Just curious if you use a external mixer, and you have a loop playing in one of the sample slots, u cant prelisten to the other sample slots. Are you supposed to memorise it all ?

an NI bloke says that the new traktor software will have sample decks with performance mode or some shit. Plus the F1 will be coupled with this new mode.

And he says Ableton isn't really DJ friendly. and I think he had a beard.

so it's locked to the hardware?

Nope. The hardware will do everything out of the box but all Traktor UI features can be mapped to other controllers although I expect that some things will not possible such as the colours if your controller only has 2 state colours (which is kinda obvious).

So the question is like it has been stated, upgrade or update? I guess date for it is april as well.

Yep. I doubt any info will be forthcoming (or allowed for public consumption) until April. Personally, i think NI should just tell users if its paid/unpaid upfront. I have never seen the need to keep it secret. People will get it or not regardless.

A K2 still catches my eye more than the F1 since I need a bit more versatile so expect a intuitive map for it. I'm sure that I can achieve the page scrolling (limited to 8 groups of 4, but I find it more than enough) with some modifiers.

I would imagine so.

PS: anyone got a hint of the K2 release date? Rumors were early-mid january but still no news. (sorry for the little derail)

Well thats only possible if you are using a mixer that has more than 4 chanells.
The xone 92 has them, but not to many clubs have the xone

me too... I doubt NI will do it. But if so, maybe only the really few months after the F1 release... like they did with the S4.

I'd be surprised if they even did that. The traktor s4 software was a sort of teaser precursor to a huge update, pro 2, and since 2.5 is in itself a big update which at some point must be made available to all licences traktor users and there's no sign of v3 any time soon, I reckon it'll just be a free update released at the same time as the f1.

Since they just finished up the software the day prior to the unveil hopefully 3 months will be enough time to make the new version rock solid.
