your post didn't seem relevant to my statement.

and while you're on about posting stupid shit... you posted a lot of uninformed crap in the past.

    Handbags away lads!!! Jheeze

I think this is more down to who your playin to!!

At the majority of my gigs, it's 2 channels on the mixer and I have to mix between them, do I get bored? Not really I use loops and samples to add a different dimension to the transitions and don't wait to just mix a intro into a outro! But non the less this is a-b mixing inn my opinion.

At home I do a lot more creative things, rmx decks, Maschine incorporation, 4 deck mixing!! Is it more fun then when I'm doing my a-b mixing ??? Just marginally!! Why because if I did all that fancy shit in the club ppl would hate it they want to hear what they kno/like even at the most underground nights!!!

Nothing beats having a audience bouncing to your mixin wether it be a-b or abcdefg mixing!

Sure it did. If you think A-B mixing isn't boring, you're clearly a piss-poor excuse for a "DJ". And everyone else in this thread seems to agree with me tbh.

A - B mixing is something that radio DJs do and definitely how dance/house music is supposed to be play not to get crowd boring cause they want to hear whole tune and sing/dance to it before another mix in.

This applies mostly when mixing pop/rap/rock (or any music with vocals for that matter) but I think that people enjoy hearing the songs they love and singing along with them. When DJs make the audience feel like they can't sing along with the vocals because they are suddenly being beatmashed or otherwise disturbed, they lose their excitement and energy. DJs shouldn't be overly self-indulgent

But having deck C - D playing random percussion loops on top of A&B that don't fit in isn't boring?

Same on using C and D as Isolator decks?

Even some EDM songs shouldn't be overly beatmashed and whatnot. I'd very much let a trance or electro house song play out with minor effects than have it absolutely destroyed by effects.

I think a lot of us have different definitions of A>B mixing. Honestly, who just lets tunes play out without properly blending them? I think some conversations I read tend to be lost in translation based on what genre you usually play. I only post from the drum and bass perspective. In that genre, things like double drops are huge, which is A>B mixing. The music is too active to start doing crazy cue dropping, effects and sampling though. I would like to think the tunes I play speak for themselves and, in a way, it's kind of disrespectful to go crazy fucking around on somebody else's production. Have some respect for the music you're playing.

To me, that DJ EZ mix was A>B mixing. He's busy and active, but not doing some routine.

This is NOT to be confused with A-->A+B-->B-->B+A-->A mixing, which is what most decent Trance/House DJs do.

Erm, no lol. I got asked to "play some indie/metal" at my weekly residency a little while ago, and for the half hour I spent just waiting for one track to end just to hit play on the next one, I would've rather been ANYWHERE, doing ANYTHING else. Even in the crowd at and listening to a Paris Hilton DJ set.
I am a house DJ and you couldnt have summed it up any better
