I agree with Papo. Being out in FL, when I think of a pool party, I think of Tech vibes. Maybe some upbeat chill-out and nu-disco.

Not to stereotype... but is there a majority ethnicity that will be attending this party? Is this a private party? What race are the host? Think those questions might apply...?

mainstream EDM and top 40, i would probably venture into other genres just to test the waters

did you have to give them a demo? what was on that?

This has more suspense than the Game Of Thrones finale.

Real house? Or Krewella, Dada, Zedd and the like? (yea they're real house but that's like top40 to me).

    How'd the event go?
    What advice was helpful?
What did you figure out at/after the gig that you wish you had known ahead of time?

Oh snap, i forgot i posted here.

    The gig was awesome!!!

    Crowd was more family oriented.

    I was using 2 TT's and a DJM-T1

I figured out during the set that if a played like a 3 and 3 format everyone was really happy.

So like 3 songs from now and then 3 songs from the 70's or 80's, and just keep mixing back and forth.

I was just freemixing, and It was super fun to discover how I could creatively mix older music into newer music and go back and forth on the fly.

I really was not playing top 40 from any decade, but alot of lesser known tracks by popular artists.

A really great gig with absolutely ZERO pressure. Everyone was just chillin.
