As long as these guys release quality music in moderation and correctly then maybe there can be a bright future for one of my favorite sub-house genres.

and yes, after listening through to it, its mostly tech house.
it took less than a year to ruin dubstep. Let's hope the same doesn't happen to deep house.

Looks like he's jumping back on the trance bandwagon, too.

Actually, it's in the book, where the writer got to follow Armin for the period of a year!

I get what you're saying, but did it really "ruin" dubstep? I don't enjoy the real deal any less than I used to just because a pop version of it now exists. New genres spring from old ones all the time, but there's no reason the original genre can't still thrive.

There's nothing in common between the situations. No one calls it deep house anymore (maybe Americans do, but definitely no one in the UK) and the new wave of house is actually good, it's not just a bunch of talentless producers abusing one sound.

Spot on with 'Au Seve' although I kinda prefer the StarOne remix:

The problem with the sound of house in the UK atm is that it's too clean, too sanitary, it's missing a lot of what makes the UKs take on things great. Think back to genres the UK has pioneered in the past, there's always something edgy about them, a roughness or a sense of unease/danger. Jungle, DnB, UK Garage, Grime, Dubstep... even Bassline to an extent. This new breed of house, whatever you want to call it, is definitely missing that IMO.

I just don't think it really matter who plays Deep House, and who "jumps on the bandwaggon", music is there to be appreciated, and world-class DJs don't play music they don't like. If Tiesto likes Deep House then power to him for getting a chance to play it in front of people - I know everyone on this forum would love their shot.

Every sound gets exhausted at one point or another, it's only a matter of time - but then like everything, sounds come back around. Look at the "deep house" of today, it's mostly recycled vocals etc from 90s rnb. Hell, everyone's using 909 sounds now, you all know how long they've been around.

This is nothing to be bitter about, things like this happen and times change and evolve, there is no point wasting time being bitter about it.

And remember, there are DJs out there who will push their favourite genre for years as it dips in and out of popularity, look at the original house, drum and bass, techno etc producer who stick by their sound forever and are extremely popular in doing so.

    Good post

All genres of dance music go through cycles of more mainstream popularity, become saturated as big labels/trend followers jump in to make some £, then move on to the next 'new sound', but those that are really in to the particular scene will continue to make and play that music throughout. Soulful/Deep House has always been my thing and will continue to do so, although I must admit it is nice to see House having a bit of limelight at the moment and to be fair I've not noticed a lot of really poor tracks being released, even those entering the charts have credibility so far.

This is really blowing up my skirt right now, went down well at the w'end:
