The 'off' state of the lc-1 looks really bright.. is there any way to completely turn off the led rather than just having it dim?

This. Some editor should come handy.

I gotta admit it does look pretty blinding in that photo

ALL adjustments to the CMD controllers can be done via standard SYSEX, so any MIDI editor will work. Changes are remembered between power cycles, so changing things like the MIDI channel only need to be done once.

So does this include the LED off states being changed from dim to completely off?

Currently the "off" state is amber in most cases. An exception is the LC-1 where amber is an indicator color, and it has an off, on, and a blink state.

Wicked, so just to confirm - with the LC-1 it is possible to have NO lights on with the 4-coloured buttons?

Is this only true of the LC-1 "clip grid" or do the other controllers with only blue and orange have an off state?

Trying to decide between the LC-1 and DC-1 for my future xwax+renoise controller. I hope the one semi-decent DJ store around here gets them on display so I can check them out.

The CMD controllers are always meant to be lit, so most of the buttons don't have a true "off" state. Amber is "off". I never wanted there to be a case where the controller would be plugged in but dark.
