Lady Gaga is "The John Lennon" of what Billboard defines as "Dance Music".
Techno,House, and Pop music, are all the same to Billboard; so meh.

The fact that Rolling Stones even comes up when talking about The Beatles is a joke, there are so many other bands from that era that make the stones look like shit.

Beach Boys, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin, The Kinks, Rush to name some of the better known ones. Not to mention all the obscure underground rock bands from that time that also school the stones.
Hey look I'm not saying the Beatles didn't do something incredible. I understand all that. I have, in fact, "done my homework."

I completely agree with you that all those bands you named are better than the Stones.

In fact, I wasn't even thinking about the Rolling Stones when I said the Beatles were overrated. I can appreciate what they did, I just don't care much for their music.

    To each his own.

It was probably me that lumped The Stones in with The Beatles, my bad. Just going by the numbers there's quiet a few bands that the public thought were better than The Stones as well.

    Prodigy
    Leftfield
    Chemical Brothers

that's my personal order, when I played hardcore raves in the old days it would be the Prodigy getting in the playlist for the events, the other two came later and i saw all three play Brixton Academy, most memorable was Prodigy followed by Leftfield, as for a comparison to the Beatles for me there isn't any due to scale i don't think any EDM group has ever attained or will ever attain what they have done.

    p.s I don't like the Beatles ;-)

well guys, don't take the comparison to the beatles too literally. i think it goes without saying that no modern musicians will have a career that is exactly like a band from over 40 years ago. the differences between the music industry and audiences of 2010 compared to the 1970s are pretty huge.
