    hi punky,
traktor and ableton are working very well together. I haven't sync them, but playing one track in traktor and playing another one in ableton with modifying it, wasn't a problem. I used the ASIO Driver at 5.5ms.

I'll use this as an example (not a Mac suggestion) I sold my Vaio for $480ish to a friend due me buying an iPad. The Vaio was bought for $630 after tax approx 7month before...puts a 2.4 Core 2Duo 3 or 4gigs RAM, 500Gig HD, Win7 64bit laptop in his hands cheep. I got a 2010 13' MBP -basic config- for $850 used (dropped in a PNY 128gig SSD myself i got from Best Buy). You can find really great items (both laptops were in excellent condition) if you check Craigslist, most forums, and/or Ebay. Both had good sound using Headphone to RCA setup too, though the Mac does sound a bit better to me.
    Setup 1: 2010 13'MBP 128gig SSD, VCI-100se, Audio 2DJ,
    Setup 2: Custom Desktop, AMD 2.4GHz 3core, 80gig SSD, 1Tb archive drive, 1010lt M-Audio soundcard

Seriously as a PC and a Mac owner, there is a reason why Dj's use Macs. I used to be like they aren't even that good, prices are too high etc. I got a used mac off ebay YESTERDAY and I will never ever use a PC for Traktor ever again.

Yeah, it's because they don't want to be bothered learning about the equipment they stand in front of every day. They put more thought into what wallpaper they have on their desktop than gain structure or how a PA works. Any establishment worth it's salt will have measures put in place to keep an ignorant DJ from blowing up the PA. Similarly, the computer equivalent of that is an Apple computer.

They use mac's cuz they arent smart enough to dive into the system and make it run better.

So when I had a factory fault on my dell laptop, I was supposed to go inside it and change the motherboard?

Don't be stupid. If you have a factory fault in ANYTHING you buy you should return it.
