Lawlz. Never mind the fact CoreAudio is hella better for pro use. Or that you don't have to fart about with drivers. Or worry about viruses. Or that Macs are just damn easier to use.

    Yeah, never mind all that.

I'd take an ecler evo 5 over the DJM 2k myself, but that's more preference I guess.

Honestly you could even start a small side business renting out your equipment if you got a pair of CDJ-2000's and a DJM-2000. I know it's not your goal, having the cash on hand, but it could be a tidy little way of making your money back.

It's one of things "you have to have money to make money" kind of things. I know a lot of "smaller" events, most of the time people are renting their equipment. So it's not a terrible idea.

If you wanted to add controllers or a DVS software to that setup, it would be your prerogative as well. Personally I think you'd be quite fine with rekordbox and USB sticks however.

    But it's not cheap.

    Um...not true!

One should always try and learn more and move forward.
I was afraid that using a Mac would be a step back and that I would not be able to manipulate it like i can a PC.......

    BS!

There is no need to manipulate the Mac.....it WORKS!

    The learning curve was NOTHING!

So in essence...i wasted time and was not progressing in a way.....due to being scared of going Mac.

You can dual boot.....so if you REALLY want your PC for all your already owned software etc....there you go!

It's not soley about the parts that make up the laptop ---- it's the operating system.

I'm one that usually thinks by this logic. If I wanted to be a DJ, or if I wanted to be a Doctor, or if I wanted to be a Motorcycle mechanic. What tools are the professionals and industry experts using. At the moment every vid I've seen of a top DJing with a laptop has always been with a Mac. There's a reason.

    Oh boy here we go.

Get a thinkpad, make sure you have a separate partition just for DJing.

I would suggest some body guards because some people here are gonna think you've bought their dream rigs.

Get a Mac, and you don't need to partition anything. /troll
