There's also plenty of clubs with some good DJ's and headliners filling the place every weekend. So the competion within clubs is pretty stiff too, so chances are the music is going to be good, or it will suck and the chicks won't go, and then the guys won't pay.

I pay for the drinks, she pays later that night!!!

    3) it's all about the music - not really if all we are focused on is getting girls to the event, girls who may hate the music or atmosphere were trying to a create. We had 4 locals last night bangin out some great classic hip hop and with the skill to match. This one cat was doing some on point beat juggling. If we have girls and people there who just want to hear the Latest Kesha track kind of defeats the purpose of the event all together.
your not making sense man, you want to make sure people appreciate your music but you want people there. then you dont want people there who dont have the same appreciation for music as you do..?

If you make an "event" that attracts girls... they will party to any genre as long as its bangin music.

us guys will party if 1. cover isnt outrageous for us and girls. We usually pay for us and our date to get in. 2. drink specials. i want to buy my boys a round and buy a few girls a few drinks without regretting it the day after. 3. the dj to make sure he is on his p's and q's and is pumping some good music.

I'll admit my initial outlook wasn't positive, I think my issue was that it seemed a little unfair to just focus on girls. I want local supporters to get just as much love as the hot girls that easily fill the place.

its cool, no matter how much fun it is just getting drunk with your boys and partying is, we have a penis that requires hot girls to be dancing and partying with us, if not, we wont party there. f'd i know lol

I don't get the "depressing" statements, if you guys want to survive DJing you'll need to realize that its a business. The goal as a DJ is to rock the crowd no matter what it looks like. The FACT is that girls in a crowd bring more guys which equals more crowd for you to rock. Even gay paties attract the sexy women (real ones LOL, generally strippers after their show).

Nah. It was more a general 'depression' at the tired old self-reinforcing gender politics at play. This coming from the point of view of someone whose social circle generally consists of women who are more than capable of making their decision about who they sleep with on the same criteria as the men, as opposed to being bought or paid for. So probably a bit OT.
