I posted this in the K2 thread. This is the sample deck overlay. I have a pic of an overlay that simulates the X1 but its not so clear (the pic).

This is actually a mock-up. The production overlay will be like the X1 overlays because the eagle-eyed will notice that the one in the pic is actually a sticker. The real overlay will not be a sticker.

i think i'm going to add this to my setup, X1 buttons are failling =(

would be neat if it could work only with the X-Link [ethernet) connection to the laptop to "save" usb ports!

Indeed, it's probably software doable, however regular ethernet port do not provide power... so you still end up to plug the USB for this purpose.

Still, it has to use the generic Ethernet pinout & transceiver... and this we don't know for sure.

If i remember right the K2 can be powered via Xlink only if its connected to the DB2 mixer.

For any other setup its USB powered.
A second K2 can be powered via ethernet from the first K2.

plus ofc there's different pinouts a vendor can choose to run power over the rj45. but yep - no way of just plugging it into a standard ethernet port and expecting to get any power...
