Stolen Gear - Thats why i really look after mine!

Breakage - I dropped my laptop from a 2m high platform onto brick paving. I died a little.
Still works 100% tho! Good old MacBook Alu!

Drinks spills - I too am pedantic when it comes to this. Don't come close with your drinks MOFO's! I am known to turn the volume down to give a punter shit if he is dancing like a nutter with his water or drink in his hand. Shit flying everywhere. I mean its all fun....but to a point yeah.

Arriving late for a gig - This happened to me in Jan. No one bothered to tell me the times had changed. I was SERIOUSLY pissed off. Lucky no friendships were lost over it. But it was close!

Laptop Freeze - Has not happened to me during a gig yet really. Happened in a club during my last track....so not too bad.

Getting Boo'ed - Hasn't happened to me yets...but I am sure its not a cool feeling to experience.

Some of the fears I read were like a bad acid trip... Bugs, snakes, flame throwers, EMP's, etc...

Biggest fear is not getting gigs.

Was lining up a track in my headphones once and realized I had the volume on. That sucks. W/e

Otherwise, what's already been said. People who put their drinks by my equipment and other dj's around. It's always a distraction and makes me mess up more than anything else in the world. Oh, and drunk people dancing by my speakers is never a good thing. I've had my speakers set up on a counter top once and some guy went up on the counter to dance like a jack ass, fell, and grabbed my speaker as a support. I never went back to that place to spin and never will.

Remembered a pretty good one. Thinking you weren't as intoxicated as you actually were before getting up to perform and very soon realizing that you had a pretty big challenge ahead of you.

Haha I'll still leave the volume fader up while cueing by accident from time to time when I've got my cans on all the way. I did it once without realizing while recording a mix, and then I listened back to it and was like "WTF WAS I DOING HERE!?!?!?!?"

On a side note, my biggest fear is getting my apartment robbed like someone said. They would make bank off me.

This happened to me when i was very young with more gear than a youngster should have. Just moved out of home and had £10,000 of studio and guitar gear burgled from my rented house... None if it was insured.

    Lesson learned.

I now have full Musical Equipment/DJ coverage on ALL my gear in the house, covered for any eventuality and itemised products covered for theft from my car, venue and damage by 3rd parties or breakage etc.

The peace of mind is a tangible feeling.

Oh and for ultimate backup, every time i go on holiday I leave my 2GB Western Digital Hard Drive with my Time Machine Backups at my mothers house so, if i return to find everything GONE i can buy a Mac and gig the same day.

    :eek:Paranoia:eek:

Default Hardware failures and drunk people

My biggest fear is hardware/software failure. And thats happened several times.

Playing this new years eve something happened to my computer at exactly 00:00. Traktor freeze, Windows freeze, the music somehow continued (!?), the program stopped reponding to any keystroke, incl CTRL-ALT-DEL, must have been something with the operating system. Fortunately I always carry seperate CDs with mp3 so I could use continue playing with the clubs DJ1000s. . My new computer is now a Mac... :P

Other than that I hate it when drunk people lean over the glass of the DJ boot with a beer, drink or soda, to wish for a song, say hi, or whatever. My PC have survived beer in it, it has a spillsafe keyboard, but i doubt my beloved VCI-100SE will do it. Anyone with experience?
