Another Drumcell interview and vid of jamming
I've made it a point to stop looking at analog haven. Last time I checked it out I really had to rein in the imagination and self control to not want to empty out my wallet on a vermona perfourmer and a rack full of cv sequencers.
He sounds like a chilled dude
Finished my super cheap ikea 6u rack case
Ikea rast $15
6u rack rails $8 form parts express
rack screws $3
misc wood and parts from lowes (had them cut back panel piece there) $10
~$40 total
Tiptop happy ending kit $150 (already had it)
extra z-ears and rails- $40
Not bad for a nice looking case with power

Pretty.
When do we get to hear some of this stuff?
sample of what I've been messing with tonight.
I should really try to flesh this out into an actual track this weekend

I caved and ordered a Piston Honda and am broke again
let the fax machine noises begin, I'm not crazy about a lot of the abrasive noise demos on youtube of a lot of modules but the morphing between wavetables is really cool and filtered should sound pretty awesome and is the kind of weird stuff I'm look to make
I really like the track man especially once all the sounds kick in
I was messing around trying to figure out how to use the PEG and finally read the manual on the midi/cv interface and got it to receive clock from ableton. I came up with an interesting patch- there is no external note sequencing- the oscillators are just self running without midi and the modular is only receiving clock output from ableton which I routed to the pingable envelope generator (i.e. pinging it) and the result is below. The peg is then modulating itself and driving the filter and amp- and the two oscillators are FMing each other. Pretty cool for a little setup- I only have an old digital camera with no ext. audio input so sorry for the crappy sound.
