Just got the Z2 and I seriously love it, sound quality is top-notch, solid amount of knobs, and the faders are a dream. Some people like a curve adjustment on the channel faders (Z2 doesn't have em) but I think they're perfect.

i have got the DJM-T1 and have tried the Z2 at a store and at a friends. Overall i prefer the pioneer. 3 effects nobs rather than just the one and now with the update, you can do all that the Z2 can do for a cheaper price!! Also the feel of the buttons that can be pressed seem a lot nicer on the pioneer, but the Z2 buttons can be a bit small and clicky. Another thing, the DJM T1 has the PIONEER name which have produced unbeatable top mixers that clubs have used all over the world, so you can be sure it will last a life time.

I think the T1 is best for Serato, and the Z2 is best for Traktor. Unless the T1 can also utilize the remix decks. The Aux Out and built in USB hub on the Z2 are definitely made for Traktor users.

Neither of these mixers makes sense unless you're using traktor.

The Z2 utilizes the remix decks, to do that with the T1 you would need to spend the extra $$$$ for the F1, which would cost about the same if not more than a Z2. Z2 has it built in, but less knobs for effects and whatnot. The T1 has 4 cues per deck, plus three effects knobs AND 4 extra midi buttons. Obviously both were made for Traktor users in mind, but not everyone uses Traktor. The T1 is a GREAT solution for Serato users who are working off of an SL box, not a mixer with Serato built in and don't want to make the switch to Traktor. The T1 makes really good sense for a Serato user given that on the mixer you can directly control Cues, Loops, Samples, Effects AND library control. I think the only Serato mixer that has comparable capabilities cost well over double what the T1 costs.

Would it make sense to buy the T1 if not using any software for the refurbished price ($419)?

I'm with FEP - I think that the Z2/T1 make more sense for Traktor.

@DJLiteral The Z2 lets you juggle all eight cue points of all four decks - it's really nice.

The "T" in T1 stands for Traktor. It was built specifically for Traktor and even has a Traktor Scratch certified soundcard. The sound card does not even work w/ SSL.
