archangel is and always will be my fav track from burial. To me, I like the skrillex song just of what it represents more than for the production. its good but what it represents is how the biggest commercial "dubstep" artist did it. If his high school fans dig this, then they might be like wow, this is dubstep? then maybe (hopefully) dig deeper into the music and find all those other great artists. And it will also mean more of those brostep artist trying to emulate this sound, cause honestly, I would rather hear this than all this screetching and electro complextro or whatever people have been making.
Kind of like if SHM made an actual house track

I've listened to the EP, can't quite decide how I feel about it.
I hear an 8hz sinewave can make a whole room of dubstep producers simultaneously stroke their beards.

Even if they havnt got one.

It's alright. It all seems a bit too clean for the late night future garage vibe. For some reason, the production reminds me of Hybrid, even though their rhythms were of course straighter.

Actually the point in bold is probably the silliest thing written on the internets

This isn't him changing direction. It's him imitating somebody else's sound. None of us knows the motive, but he's not dumb--a change of direction would derail his career.

When Ben Gibbard put out his Postal Service LP he wasn't changing direction--he was just doing something else as a creative outlet. Brostep is alive and well and Skrillex is still atop the pyramid.
