leaves me thinking there's no point in cds anymore if you can put sd cards/usb sticks in it, and that's going to be one of the biggest selling points.
there'll probally be point where guys will think 'why should i spend almost £3000 on these when for less £500 i can get something that does the same job and doesn't have wasted features i won't use i.e cd player?' I know if i was still on cds now i'd be looking at this and thinking about getting a controller instead as i would only be buying it for the usb feature.

i can almost see this killing the cdj market and bringing things down to just the vinyl, dvs and controller camps (and let's face it, the first 2 will eventually be completely merged).

Pioneers next move should be to strip out the cd player and turn it into just a controller, evolve the sepc1 or build a new one from scratch.

still think the link is fantastic, but again, would be made redundant by using traktor/ableton/etc....

In all it feels to me to be a very simple concept made over complicated, and alot of it is unnecessary. no problems have been either solved or created by it there's not really much to bitch about as it does it all, but there's nothing to get excited about as it doesn't do anything new - just goes round the houses to do it.

Touched one tonight. Not that impressed.

All though they claim it's not an updated CDJ-1000, it just felt like it was.
With a bigger screen, a dial that could come straight from a Denon DNS-3700 and a needle strip search that has been inspired by the Numark NS-7.

They have added 32 buttons that can be MIDI-mapped, but.. they forgot to make the most important thing MIDI- mapable, the jogwheel.

Surely this'll only work if they make the Rekordbox software free? Would you drop major coin on these for using at home if your club hasn't got one? Would you buy them for your club if nobody is going to use the features because they haven't got the software at home?

With Traktor Scratch Pro I can beatgrid and mix my music at the same time at home, cheaper and more flexibly than this. I can fill my laptop bag (yeah a bit bulky but nothing compared to a box of records) and play out where they have just turntables, CDJs, or even no decks at all.

This seems to be a market whereby Pioneer will need major saturation before punters will take up the software and buy the equipment, which seems to be too much of a case of tail wagging the dog to me.

Oh and also, I'd spend far more time squinting at the iphone resolution screen going through menus than I would looking at my 15" laptop screen too.

Recordbox was okayish, don't be to hopefull about that one. What I could see was that it was an attempt at mixing Serato with Traktor.
Browsing of traktor, straightforward mixing from Serato from what I could see.

As far as I can recall rekorDBox was included with the CDJ2000 and CDJ900.
