Country music ad liqour is what sales or atleast my feeling of it. Although wonder how the owl is these days haven't been there for 5 years but suspect someplace like that would draw more crowd due to location atleas when I went there was usually decent crowd

Good open format to start night bring in the crowd and run headline after midnight when the booze is flowing may be the best bet.... But I'm far out of touch with scene in Regina so don't know maybe my thought is flawed... Sadly finding a good open format dj may be hard to do. I know recently I've decided to try to do open format and its taking some time and practice but think will be nice when I get it down to a T.... Sadly I do kit enjoy the style of music as much as my electronic genres but maybe that's what half the challenge to myself is.


Recently recorded a 74minute attempt at open format blending rock pop rap county and Suprisingly a lot of the mixes weren't as bad as I thought they would be

Yup haha the owl was amazing a few years ago after it got a face lift, (would be at capacity before 10pm) but it has died down a little (as far as its regular nights go). Its the venue where I throw most of my parties, my buddies Drewski (the guy from the mixtape) and Ageless are residents there, both are GREAT DJs. I've booked a handful of DJTTers from other cities to come play there too!

Good insight. Most of our nights usually go that way. We start off with hip hop and get into house later on, usually end off a little heavy. As for headliners, the problem is that every time you bring a headliner into this city it is a labour of love. The fact is, people here just aren't that into electronic music and its expensive to bring headliners in. Although I've never lost money on a show, we make a lot less when we're bringing in an expensive headliner. It makes it difficult to justify the expense to club owners, business partners and hell even to myself at times.

Even the few locals who actually put release tracks/routines and tour find that they have bigger followings in other cities than in their own, its pretty weird haha
