anyone have any other cool setups for 4 deck mixing? I only have a VCI-100SE but i want all four decks in traktor to be easily accessible, and since I can't use dvs for the other two decks (only have TP), i'm trying to find other cool solutions (that are affordable)

I still reckon the launchpad is going to be an excellent solution

well i am pondering mixing more actively .. then again i rarely do a lot of 2 deck mixing. however i think you dont necessarily need the same setup for all 4 decks. i think some tracks will always be just for background beats or a single loop. while you mess around more actively with others. as such i think a hybrid approach is the best .. one with a more analog controller (aka faders, knobs and jog wheels) and another more digital (mostly buttons .. but ideally with visual feedback since you do not focus so much on whats going on with the given decks).

so i am quite hopeful that the combination of a vci-100 with a launchpad would be a great setup for managing 4 deck mixes.

I agree. I don't particularly need faders and such as I generally use an external mixer. A launch pad with a row of rotary dials for the FX would suit me down to the ground.

re-mapped the effects section on the vci to control c and d in that way.

APC 40 4 decks full control of everything without using any shifts or modifiers. EQ s and effects on different banks. Can control everything I need mixing internally. Best $400 I ever spent

Honestly, just recently getting into the mixing externally scene. It's not as fluent as I hoped. I find that sence the VCI is small and all the controls are together its easier to do say 2-3 things at once. But once you add an external mixer you lose that half a second from where the effects and all other controls are so close to the EQ's, which in turn has made my mixing peobally worse not better! This is the early stages but has anyone else experienced this. Something 4 deck and all in one, would probally be the most creative way to mix??
