I'm a little put off by the millions of dubstep releases i see every day on facebook, and the fact when somebody posts a nice, chill, well produced track most of the comments are along the lines of: "This is fucking boring, needs more bass!" No, you fucking divvy, there is plenty of bass, you just can't hear it through your nans £20 alba hi-fi, squealing synths aren't bass.
    feel the same way...
some music is for listening and therefore eternal for having a place in a music collection to listen to.. and then there is music "for the moment" dancefloor filler to make djs feel better. As long as its new.. you play it and people remember that you gave it to them... but people wont remember the song.

for some...not all.... the filthy wobblebass is a penis extension for lack of dj skills. The dj skill ends up being a quick glance wavform identification..
hmmmm... no amplitude...amplitude... let me just drop a cue point in the empty area... and scrub it right before the bass and hit pause.... wait for the playing song to move into an empty area... click click ...transition done.. next song... rinse repeat.
Ive seen so many djs mix like this and you know what.. when the speakers are pumping.. and the girls are dancing... and the beer is flowing.. or the joints being passed... no one cares full stop... no dj skills needed to pull off one wobble to the next.
Again... most.. but not all ... are just jukeboxing wobble after wobble.. and the only skill is getting and supporting the lego wobble factory.

This thread makes me feel young.
Anyway, I can see what you're getting at with the "Happy Hardcore" part, but you're missing out the other super-fast bass heavy music, Drum and Bass!
This 90bpm (or 180bpm, I guess) stuff is definitely one of the directions dubstep producers are heading in.
I wont bother linking, but if this is your kind of sound try checking out these tracks.
Terravita - Up in the Club
    Bassnectar - Are you ready
    Rusko - Splash (Subfocus remix)
Nero - Me and You (Nero remix) <- recently my favorite track.
Pendulum - Witchcraft (rob swires drumstep mix)
Crissy Criss and youngman - Kick Snare (Drumstep mix)
Those are just a couple I can list from the top of my head, I'm really getting into it at the moment though, it's got the sound and badness of dubstep, but it's as danceable as drum and bass, Win win!

    reread your post about lemmings

    you first say

you cant stand people who like this music because they have their "buzz words"

yet in the next sentance.. you start throwing your buzz words out like the lemmings you cant stand

    Dubstep is a buzzword

    talk about grasping at straws.

whether or not "dubstep" is currently a buzzword has little relevance to the point i was making.

there is a big difference between someone using a word that is the name for a genre of music (in this case, dubstep), and someone who regurgitates phrases like "disgusting midget rape womps" just because they think that's what all the cool kids are doing.

Do you feel like what you do is made half empty? by the kids expressing themselves in a different way than you do?
I wouldnt let that get to you, because you cannot escape this in any genre.

How do you think metal bands felt when the glam rock started to blow up...?
the wobble bass is the Glam to an already existing format. Power solos and who can play faster and more technical and so forth is where the ego takes over.
different formats come and go.. and some leave production tricks to other older genres and for future ones. And for the most part there is a certain cheeze aspect to dj culture when you get a bunch of dj's together trying to talk about this or that. The whole thing is relative to where you are and who you play to and when.

no no i think you've misunderstood me... it's not like i'm losing sleep at night or view the genre in a negative light just because some of the new fans are kind of annoying...

it's something i find funny more than anything... it's one of these pop culture effects akin to every idiot you know doing Borat impressions when that movie came out a few years ago.. but we see the same kind of thing happening in the dubstep scene which is unusual, i've never witnessed anything like it with any other genre of any music movement - or maybe i've just repressed the memories lol.

mostly wanted to point it out for the absurdity of the whole thing for the sake of having a laugh, wasn't supposed to be taken too seriously.
