i hate the fw 800 port on my mbp. the damn plug pops out when you sneeze in the room next door.

drop it, turn it into a third usb, everyone is happy. i'm fine with two though, so maybe just drop it.

If you saw all my dj gear and midi controllers you would vomit. My minimal setup is Audio 2 plus 1 X1 - for dvs its just 2 timecodes and the SL-1 or A8 and maybe a X1 or Dicers.

Love my trackball mouse specially as i like to have my laptop as much out of the way as possible. I know mac trackpads are supposed to be amazing but i just dont like track pads in general. And if i was to start using a trackpad id have to place my laptop that much closer to me.

I do see were your coming from though

just im not a fan of hubs. Never have been and i have tried them out before when i was using 2 extra pieces of hardware (midi controller and external hd). Plus its one more thing that can go wrong ie take it out at a gig and it dosnt work.

no one does, but the reason it's expected is because every single other manufacturer puts out at least 3 USBs in their laptops. I'd say that's conservative too, as I've never seen a non apple laptop in the past few years that had less than 4.
