Yep the chargers are complete rubbish. I've been through two in two years but my local Apple store replaced them for free. I've used both platforms and not had any real issues. The biggest problem i've encountered on my Amilo XI3650 was getting the crappy nvidia hybrid graphics card to play nicely with windows 7.

You can't because I haven't. Now, if I was to quote all the disinformation put out there by the Mac owners that would be quite a post. Surely you must see that you don't have to put Windows down to say how happy you are with your Mac?
Most definitely! You dont need to put Windows down. I loved my XP box here at work.....its just old now.
I was bitching about Win7...being new to it and having to us a sub par laptop with it to boot.

I am not thrilled by this current setup i have for work. Never slated Windows at all. I made my analogy and explained why i see it that way. Simple.

I also never said you were slating Macs. I said your superiority complex is showing a bit and trying to win an argument on the net is....well...useless.

We're trying to share our experiences here, though you're constantly trying to get this back to on of the old PC vs. Mac heckling threads.
    Please stop this.

I have a Windows 7 stup at home and a macbook pro (old C2D one) for playing out.

Both work exactly the same - I had a few driver problems with Windows but once sorted it has been fine.

    Oof, not good.

After three years my battery is not the best anymore. I have charged over 1000s of times, and yeah it states that it needs replacement, but I guess I don't want to do that yet or something.

Yes, my DVD Combo has been kaput for quite some time, and can be used after using a cleaning cd/dvd. The tray seems to gather quite some shite very quickly.
(I might bodge it for another HDD, as that I almost never use CDs/DVD in it anyways. All the updating etc is done by way of MemSticks and through WiFi, so why clean it.)

And there were equal if not greater numbers of people who trotted out the old 'drivers, updates, tweaking, blah, blah, blah' and I'll be fucked if I won't challenge obvious bollocks like that.

Also, I noticed you took the swearing out of my post (despite the fact it wasn't aimed at anyone and wasn't insulting) yet you're quite happy for someone to call me a cunt. I think that says it all about your 'moderation' and even-handedness. This place is a joke.

mmm...Jack mate...this is not a competition. If they had driver issues....thats what they had.
Just because YOU know how to keep your Win machine running optimally, does not mean others do.

Not every DJ is a technical person or comes from an IT background.

So calling BS on someones experience is dumb.
If Microsoft ignored all the issues non IT people have...they would be out of business.

Their software is aimed at those who aren't IT learned. To be user friendly. So if someone is on a Windows machine and has these niggly issues when trying to use DJ Software reliably, it is in MS's best interest to address it to prevent these consumer types from going to another platform. Not so?

Just because YOU can sort it out with ease, does not mean these people never had those problems. Whether that is stupid and a lazy outcome from these people, is another story entirely.

The situation remains. They have issues and will look else where for a better option. Just because you then shout "You dumb f__s....you wasted your money running to a Mac, because you too dumb to fix a stupid driver issue on Windows", will make NO difference, will it?

It is the truth...they were stupid and did not try hard enough to get to Window know their Windows setup and resolve the issue themselves, before splurging on another system.

Still, that is what it is. You can shout it till you blue in the face mate....It changes nothing.

You're putting a lot of words in my mouth that I haven't even come close to saying there Sarasin. If you check my original post itt you'll see that I literally never do any maintenance on my machine, I keep the hd from filling up and that's it, so I have no idea why you think I'm dissing people with no tech experience. Where have I called people 'dumb f__s' because they chose an Apple? I've had nothing but praise for Macs right the way through the thread. Sigma said it best in his last paragraph -

Macbooks are great laptops and I would definitely agree that there is a lower risk in running into issues if you buy one, but that does not mean that the risk of running into issues on a Windows machine is so high that you should rule one out.

Frankly when someone says that their laptop 'shat it' (or words to that effect) when trying to run really standard programs like photoshop I do call bullshit. And what do you know? It was bullshit and exaggeration. Check back on the thread and you'll find it's true. He implied that they wouldn't run and then later acknowledged that (a) they did run but (b) it was an old machine and he wanted them to run better. The best you can say about that is that it was a misleading thing to post.

If everyone just kept to the point of the thread and bigged up what they like about their machine I wouldn't have to call bullshit on the obvious lies and exaggerations contained within.

You seem to be a bit of a argumentative c*nt and seem to have destroyed a decent thread.
Jack, you seem to be concentrating on certain things and ignoring certain things. Quoting an old post, yes i said it didn't do what i wanted it to do well enough.. And that was to run pieces of software i wanted it to run, i have just used the actual laptop to run Photoshop/Freehand (just for the sake of this thread) so i misled the topic a little by saying that. But it still never run Ableton/Traktor/Torq great. It did everything else i wanted it too.

But i also posted my NEGATIVES towards BOTH Mac and Windows and i also posted POSITIVES towards BOTH Mac and Windows as the OP asked. All down to my experience. I do have a working knowledge of computers (not a great one) but enough to get me past issues etc and i have the common sense to google issues before complaining etc. And i also stressed on more than one occasion that it made sense for me to move to Mac because i was working on Mac daily at College.

I still use Windows on a daily basis at work and even outside work so nothing against it. I'm just a Mac man, and i also said previously that i would recommend Windows over Mac if budgets are concerned so i'm not biased.

I did not mean that is what YOU were saying, it means that is what I got ...the gist ...of your overall posts on this thread. The Tone. I am not saying you are wrong or that you dissed anyone. I am trying to show you that you are arguing a point that is moot.

No worries, you have your opinion and you are free to express it.

No hard feelings dude...just thought I would try and get us to not go down the PC vs Mac....ala I know more about his than you....discussion.

    Enjoy the weekend fellas!

    I am outta here!
