So who ordered a Z2?

Got mines today from with nice blue caps from the DJTT. Really impressed with the unit. I am planning to use it with my Denon 3900s.

I thinking you could easily map a play button and the mixer could easily be a stand alone controller.

How old is your laptop? Mines a mid 09 MBP. What's your latency set at? I've got mine at 12.7 i think, but I've tried raising it to 15 and it didn't seem to have any effect. I deleted a bunch of old mappings that weren't being used and streamlined some preferences that I thought might be causing the computer to think harder than normal and that's made it where I can play two decks with some mild FX usage.

I can watch my memory slowly go down in activity monitor so I may have something else going on like you said. I've never reinstalled the OS in the three years I've had this laptop so that's something I might do and chalk it up to over due maintenance.

I have a mid 09 13" MBP and Traktor 2.6 runs extremely smooth with 4GB of ram on Mountain Lion. Unfortunately any other program like safari or word, etc runs way slower than it used to on Snow Leopard.

Mine is a '10, running at 12.8 latency, but could lower it a bit if I want. I also have 2x Denon SC2000 plugged into the Z2 to run effects and stuff.

Out of curiosity I just connected the Z2 to my 08 2.4 ghz iMac with 4 gigs pf ram. Using 2.6 I was able to activate all FX banks using macro FX, fill the sample slots and flux mode my ass off with no hiccups. So it's most probably the overdue maintenance on my MBP that's causing the problems.

I got mine today, but I won't be able to set it up until tomorrow. I took it out of the box to have a look though. Build quality seems decent. The crossfader feels really nice, but the line faders - whose idea was it to put faders that stiff in a mixer??

I also bought an Innofader Pro, so I'm going to put that in as the crossfader, then I'll use the original crossfader as one of the line faders and buy another loose mini Innofader (when they're available) for the other line fader.

if I'm not mistaken, I believe you can adjust the mini innofaders if you actually take them out of the mixer. When they're installed you can't adjust them like an innofader pro.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

I wanna say I heard the same thing, the mini inno's in the Z2 have 2 settings you can choose from if you take them out of the mixer and flip a switch. I might be wrong as well though

There is a button for calibrating the fader, but there's no switch to adjust the tension.

The 8 gigs of RAM masked any issues I was having. Still going to go through and clean my laptop up though.

I actually preferred the faders to have a weighed down feel to them, makes for a smooth transition if you are using the line faders to blend tracks. I keep my cross fader at the sharpest cut since I scratch and use lines to mix/blend.
