Pretty sure you're joking but just in case you're not .... I want to be able to use my shift and arrow keys like I can in just about any other software I use. I want to be able to change all modifiers of 0 to 1 easily without endless squinting and clicking. I want to be able to do the same with other options -- e.g. highlight 7 lines in controller manager and duplicate them and then change all the new ones to Deck B instead of Deck A. I want to be able to edit the mapping in a separate interface if possible, and I want the controller mappings to load separately from the threads controlling the rest of Traktor so that every time I open preferences it doesn't take a minute to load, with the rest of the software interface frozen. And yeah, as other people have noted, it would be nice to be able to do simple mapping without going into the controller manager at all, which feels too much like editing a spreadsheet. And I want the mapping files unencrypted so we can edit them in various ways. The spreadsheet interface is great for advanced mapping but if you're going to make it a spreadsheet we ought to be able to edit it in the ways we normally edit a spreadsheet, including all the user interface stuff that's built into the OS....

    +1

Well said, spot-on mate. At least if the stupid TSI files weren't encrypted we'd be able to import our OWN data into Excel, edit it and export it back into the TSI file. Also this would enable us to re-use sections of existing mappings, and would make management much more efficient in general. To be perfectly honest, Traktor's mapping capabilities are amazing, but the way mappings are managed is utter crap. Like I said elsewhere, NI almost certainly have proper tools for editing mappings, they are just not available to us end users.

Bringing this thread to back life now that NAMM is around the corner and it's 2014. Based on previous Trakor releases: Traktor Scratch (2007), Traktor Pro (2009), Traktor Pro 2 (Feb 2011), we could see Traktor Pro 3 in the first quarter of 2014.

I wonder if Traktor will take an approach similar to The One. As everyone knows people are always emphasizing the importance of producing for DJ's. I think it'd be really cool if they could give you more control and flexibility with the remix decks that made it easy to work with loops and make your own edits. They could let you open a mini arrangement view where you could drag loops/samples and have a consolidate mode where it renders your track for you.

What do you guys think are we going to see Traktor take the remix decks further or introduce some kind of crazy feature that no one has thought of before.

if they don't there is always VDJ8. it's meant to have a 99 track timeline mode with events that can fire samples, plugins, DMX lighting and a more configurable sampler than Traktor with user selectable choke grouping and unlimited samples, full VST support for Windows, a better scripting engine, user creatable skins, user configurable skins ala "the one" though this looks like a huge undertaking to make a skin that allows this functionality and it might require c++ knowledge, better audio routing and it's not a closed system as the entire API that the company use will be available to all.

The private beta finally got announced so it should be out in a couple of months from now to the public...

Key I hope is something they will address, VDJs key system looks pretty damn nice.
At a stretch maybe something that displays what songs are in a compatible key in the UI (hopefully without cluttering it with thousands of colours).
