I'd break that in a heartbeat. Looks like it's made of aluminium. It wouldn't hold 300 donuts.

Did you go and have a look at it before posting the pic. It looks weak.

Look at the link I posted. You need a banqueting table. Not a picnic bench.

oh wow, memories of lugging 30 ish cinder blocks to whatever venue the decks were going to be in that night.

the pain, but really there's not much better to put your decks on unless you're ready to go through the floor and mount them into the earth.

Ikea (sort of) makes the cheapest off-the-shelf desk/table I've seen: Frame. They don't make the matching table top anymore, but that's okay because it's basically 1 1/4" cardboard anyway. It's what I've used for over a year and is the first thing I've been really happy with.

Them not making a tabletop for it is kind of a blessing in disguise, because you can just get wood from Home Depot or Lowes in the right dimensions and have something a lot better.
I think I might make some thing out of 1by4rs that is sturdy enough. I would make a frame to glue and screw the top sections in with. then use the frame to secure the legs. that might make sense. also put supports between the legs.

Just buy a 3m kitchen worktop from B&Q (Home Depot or whatever they have in Canada)

    http://www.diy.com/departments/bq-so.../100570_BQ.prd

Get some 4x2 and screw it to the wall with a supporting leg if needed

    http://www.diy.com/departments/it-ki...m/37682_BQ.prd

I had my turntables on that setup for about 10 years and it was the most solid desk I've ever had with shit loads of space for record crates underneath.

Looks cool as fuck & handy if I wanted to make a sandwich as well.

if I got a 6by4 foot piece of plywood and put it on top of 4 sets of cinder blocks it would work but its to heavy. cant move them.

If you really need portability and something sturdy, I'd go with just buying something thats designed to do its job properly ...e.g.

You can use any old folding table from the local hardware for sure and will either wobble, break after a few gigs and will never feel "right" especially not for turntables at least not with some modifications to the structure.

I have yet to see a table suitable for turntable DJ'ing that doesn't weigh quite a bit - and its not how much weight a table can hold, its how well it is at isolating and preventing wobbles. Whats the point in having great turntables if every time you cue up a track or try to scratch the other record skips ?

If you really dont want to buy outright, I would look at 2 options:

Modify a ikea/home depot/expo table yourself so its sturdy enough and the correct height.

    or

Get someone to build you a take down frame from aluminum or steel bar (if you know someone that has a welder / grinder it should be easy enough.

Then I would buy a decent solid door, or sheet of 1' MDF saw it in half, carpet it and put hinges in the midway section so it folds in half and have screw downs to the metal frame.

Ok I have just googled what you people are calling Cinder Block - damn I had my decks on a stand made from those things we call Breeze Blocks in the UK.

I had them stacked either side with a metal plate running through the centre to put my amp on then more block with a wooden top. It looked pretty damn good and was very sturdy.

Although, I'm sure I was breathing in the dust from the blocks.

Let me see if I can find a pic.
