Yup always gonna be one. I can usually laugh it off, like you i learnt on TTs then CDs then went digital so ive got nothing to prove, especially where i live.
It was just the fact that i was using all this stuff, really having fun with what amounts to 10 decks (virtual/physical) and some piss-stain takes one look and all he sees is Traktor.

Like is say i aint a violent man but im always up for a row . Verbal chess is my speciality and theres nothing better than making these idiots feel small after making stupid comments.

One thing is for sure, there will be another one soon enough.

So... i guess im saying that no matter how long you have been DJIng or no matter how long you have used digital or even if you have good rep in your city and you have heard all the Traktor/Serato haters rubbish before it can still catch you by surprise and turn you into a raging lunatic.

Phew... just wanted to get that out. I feel better now.
when you sink to their level nad take their bait it makes things worse and justifies them hating on dgital DJs more and more. I understand how emotions can kick in especially with alcohol, but next time try to get some self control and just laugh it off like he doesn't know shit and will be behind the times in a year or so without causing a commotion. Some digital Djs are in fragile territory and the best thing to do is take the high road and take satisfaction knowing they are idiots and you are better than them. If they hate on you then they are the insecure ones with something to prove because they feel threatened by you. Rise above it and things will work out.

What do you expect if the only thing he sees is Traktor that says it all, not saying that I have even progressed past 2 decks yet, but when I do and get beat juggling down will it truly look much different to the unwashed?, all that matters is your having fun and the dance floor is kicking.. if i ever play out again that's what I am going to care about not some clueless knob jockey that is jealous..

I think you should have called him out over the club's PA. Switched the mic on and said "Someone thinks we're doing a shitty job up here. Let him know what you think."
I'm not good at things, but I like to pretend I am.

    Hah thats brilliant.

Yeah i never rise to the bait usually. Ive been DJing far too long to lose it totally over a shit like this (especially as i have a residency at the club) but The difference this time was how can someone see a DJ using 2 CDJs and 2 laptops and have a club full of people going nuts and still think "Traktor pfft" . Everyone has a tipping point and i guess that was just mine.

I know these idiots never move out of their bedrooms and they are opinionated little turds but once, just once id like to hear a DJ say "this guy said laptops are cheating so i twated him in the face"

Like i say , violence solves nothing but i think we would all like to read a DJ tale that ended with the guy getting a slap just once.

Just want to say... Karlos... I love how British you are

On topic, though, yeah, that's what we're all bitching about. But still, you got what you got and we are all working on getting it too. Fuck the haters, cause we got all the love we need here

your right mate, it's always nice to see them get a slap, and you know what it normally happens but not when your around ;-) usually something you get told by someone else, that's how it seems to happen to me.

I remember and Dvls will back me up on this, there was an influx on laptop DJ's who spun on the laptop itself. No controller, no DVS, nothing but a piece of shit laptop that would always fail. Its gave Dvls and myself a bad rep due to their tomfoolery.

one thing i really don't understand is why spinning using DVS is "OK" but using a controller isn't (even if you're using traktor, so the guts of the programme are identical) -especially since you can still override the pitch control on the 1200 by using sync anyway? i suspect that as most of the DJs who use Scratch Pro start to use the X1 (as i'm sure NI will give away loads of them to the big names) we'll see a lot more visibility of controllers in big clubs and thus more acceptance....

Because, Tech Tool, it's not about what we're doing it's about how it looks. If I pull out two turntables and a mixer, and my laptop I can still be auto-sync-ing and everything and no one would know.

Why it's any different than have the BPM read out on the decks, or the wave forms coming up, even if i'm on CDs... blech, we all know why.

    Cause they are jealous.
