used to have 2tt 2 cdj set for 4 decks, tbh it doesn't make a difference if it's all in one or all external, once you've got used to what you're using.

I know what you mean man. I don't like having to think about things a lot while mixing, and refocusing on a different machine always seems to take that extra second. Have you considered putting the VCI on a stand directly above the mixer? Maybe that spacial relationship could help things seem smoother.

As of last night I am now using a Numark Mixmeister Control. I just finished completing my .TSI which no longer requires me to touch the computer.

The best part? I've always wanted a rotary mixer but couldn't afford one.... now I've got one in the Mixmeister Control.

I get the impression that this controller doesn't turn heads, but frankly, having tactile control over every function I need is such a liberating feeling.

I do have a shift button mapped to get everything working, but so far it feels right for my workflow.

    Controls:
4 separate big knobs for deck volume
a set of low mid high knobs for each deck
    separate buttons for looping
Browser controls (switch between tree and crates too)
    focus buttons for each deck
    Layout switching
    Chained FX control
Advanced FX control (NI-speak for FX2)
Monitor cue buttons for each channel

the above should be enough already, but there are a few more that I can't recall right now.

With a buy-it-now price on eBay of only $160 can't really go wrong.

    @Nosferatu

That controller does look pretty interesting. No issues with mapping it with Traktor I imagine? I will admit, that hadn't even been on my radar since I haven't seen anyone talking about it whatsoever.

Are you using it with any other controllers? The only thing I really see is potentially not having a solid jog wheel for setting things rolling, but it seems people have been moving away from them as of late. It does look to have a boatload of buttons designed for 4 decks though, at a reasonable price.

Mapping controls is straightforward, although I haven't had much luck with the LEDs

I've got a couple more changes to make before I upload the .tsi to TraktorFreaks, but all in all, I'm happy with it, and quite surprised that I was able to pull off a 4hr set with it.

The key for me was to carefully adjust the sensitivity for each knob to get the right feel.

2 weeks ago this thing was headed for eBay...now I'm keeping it.

I would still like a Xone 4D and a pair of TTs. Then an innofader or pro x fade. And then a midifighter. That would make me pretty happy. But how will that work in a club. Would have to settle just with the 4D for playing out. Big lug. VCI100 with a club 4 channel mixer still seems like the best idea to me.
