Don't be so sure that this will change the controller economy for the better, These being such a low cost may force other companies to cut more corners to match the price of behringers line. Behringer can probably afford to sell their gear cheap as they manufacture everything. Numark, NI, Vestax, Reloop, Pioneer etc... probably can't match the prices on the same quality gear so something has got to give. My money is on the overall quality dropping.

If the CMD controllers actually do end up causing a shift in the market, it will be because the customers voted with their wallets. If quality dips below an acceptable threshold, then customers will generate negative equity towards the poor performers and room will open in the market for higher quality (and higher priced) products. This kind of ebb and flow ALWAYS happens, and it's completely natural.

    Ok, thanks!

Any idea when the 4A will be released in Australia?

I can only tell you when we expect it to be in mass production, and that's in late October. I can't speak for the retailers.

I though about that, but can't see numark dropping the beginner series as that is where they would make the most money, but they will never be able to compete with the studio4a without huge losses, and I can't see NI raising the quality of the kontrol series as people are used to relatively low prices and probably aren't willing to fork out more than they do now. To me it seems things like the xone dx, dn3000/6000, VCI-400 won't be made again due to their failure in favour of the S2 and S4. That's my issue with NI they cornered the market and limited the options.

That all-in-one controller is looking nicer by the day. Is there a way to set the increments of the pitch slider in Traktor to .02? I'm not the best at mapping.

That depends on pitch fader resolution. You can't expectfrom low res enc to give the best performance traktor can give. No mapping can do that.
