If we are new in djing...I am shure, we think this is "jacked from pios line"
Agree, and link mode between players was already done with the 5500, never understood why they let that go with the 3700's.

When Traktor and serato didn't want to help denon with their players to make it native, denon invented hybride midi mode.

One thing you can't say about Denon is, that they are copiers. Something that pioneer is good with. One problem with Denon is and that has hurt them, that being that inventive the players have most of the time bugs, that need to be solved during some time by updates. They will solve it, but people already have read about the bugs and leave the players.

Somehow pioneer is very good in hiding problems.

Further now that these new denon players get native support for traktor, it probably doesn't matter if you have denons at home. Pioneer will probably get a better native support as well. So as you show up in the club the pioneer is still a controller like the denon player, or traktor S2.

As somebody stated it would be a nice kick in the .... for pioneer if somehow Engine software cue points etc would be transferable to Rekordbox.

Do you really think that's the way?
I mean…are you happy with sales as they are? Do you want or need to become the standard? Do you care about the sales you're missing out on because you're not?

People aren't going to do your marketing for you. At this point, you can either beat pioneer at their game or change the game somehow……but what you're doing right now is never going to put you on top.

+1 to this. i think most people would like to see Pioneer get some serious competition to help bring the prices down but i can't see these offerings from Denon threatening the pro market.
They've had 2 and a half years to develop something really interesting and all they've managed to do is copy the CDJ2000 / 900 in all reality, just with a much worse screen and a cheaper price.

At least their software now runs on a Mac in 2012.

I have always enjoyed using Denon products. My question as it relates to these units is: Is it similar enough to to the Pioneer 1000/2000 that buying it and learning on it as your first CDJ, will be similar enough to the the Pioneer units, that transitioning between the two is intuitive?

what not even look at the Denon SC3900. these are just for people who want that cdj feel... of course they are going to be similar to pios lineup. yes denons gear never looks as cool or flashy as pios, but the feel and the build quality has always been there.

also yeah denon had their music manager along time before pioneer came up with the idea, and the new engine software looks like it has much more potential than rekordbox. ohh and not only does it run on a mac but an ipad too

The build quality was probably there. The feel definitely wasn't. If you specifically liked their spinning platters, that's one thing, but nothing else about them felt solid when I started.

    .
You are right...Cdjs are very similar in every brand...the diference is the quality and feel..and I think Denon is top quality-feel... like Pioneer. ....the screen of the cdj 2000 is very - very good ....but dont forget the Denon have engine - IPAD..... Now they have an option with cheaper price and i think it will be the best quality and feel.....like other gear they have.......
If you are interested in moving platter ....If as they say .. as close to the TT ..... people who tried it ....I think they hit home run with the Denon SC3900.

haven't tried the moving platers yet, I was comparing the their last static platter cdj the DN-S1200 with the CDJ 400. imho the denon units felt better, just didn't look as cool.

He was saying that rekordbox style software was done by denon first, not that denon actually made rekordbox itself.
