Playing around on 2.6 in my office.

1st impressions are pretty good. The new Z iso EQ is decent as you get almost total kill on each band and the Z filter is pretty good too.

The new macro effects are cool.. It's good to see new effects that you can actually use in most situations/sets.. Zzzurp, polarwind & eventhorison are really nice and all of the macro effects work from 1 knob, which is useful as you can set up 3 of them in the group FX section and control them with an X1.

Trying out 'flux' mode.. Not sure if it's meant to work like 'slip mode' on the cdj2000's.. So you can grab a loop and the track will continue playing underneath, and snap to the tracks position upon release of the loop.. Maybe I need to play around some more..

If that is the case.. I can't get that working, got Flux mode on and it's looping just like any other loop and not like a 'slip mode' loop. If someone can shine some light on this it would be appreciated.

All in all a pretty decent update.. Yet to try out the remix decks but I'm glad they've addressed the master tempo issue on them.

So, first impressions out of a short 5 minute test at work with only mouse and keyboard.

    - I love post fader effects already.
    - The new Z filter is nice, less resonance than Ladder, while it didn't kill all the frequencies, the low and high frequencies are much audible than with Ladder.
    - Most Macro FX are crap IMO... still have to try them in a decent context though, but most of them are a little heavy (some of them pretty much like bounce and ramp delay). A few filtered delay ones that sound fun though.

Still, post fader FX make me happy enough. Can't wait to get home and try it properly.

Can someone confirm or deny that 2.6 has HID for the 850s?

cdj 850 is not in the pioneers list over controllers no

I freaking love the Macro effects much beeter for real use then some of the older FX. Flux mode is also cool although I mest with it some minuts. But it wasks as slip mode.

Dam I'm tempted to install on my gig laptop now but better wait untill I have the DDJ SX don't realy want to map everything to my current setup anly to remapp everything in 2 weeks

OMG this is the second time the technical support staff at NI have lied to me about this. Hopefully this just means it was added to 2.6.1 and the person was just confused.

Why would the default position for all the Macro FX be "50" instead of "0". Makes no sense. I also got some desktop icon error on install too. Not sure what that was about, everything seemed to install fine though.
