I had a good play with the DX at BPM today. ....Damm, that's a lvely piece of kit!!

I wish I'd have held back on buying my VCI 300 just a few weeks ago.

My only critisism isn't really about the hardware, it's about the 4 deck version of itch that accompanies the DX.

If you run a lappy with a smallish screen (e.g. 13" MacBook), you're gonna lose half the scrren to the deck waveforms. .....a big screen is essential!!

Buy two vci's though and you've got a better set up and value for money IMO...

Oh and you have to keep everything seperate and you'll need multiple usb inputs to handle all that.

    Not the same yo.

    It's just not feasable to have 2 x vci-100's and 1 soundcard. I own a vci-100se. I know what I'm talking about.

    Believe what you want...

It could be if you're using a desktop instead of a laptop.

Not that it would be practical, but it could be done.

who in their right mind would take a desktop setup and 2 vci-100s to a club? For one person?

    pointless...

What with the CDJ's release and this we are seeing more expensive gear, which actually will divide the market (I think) into people willing to plunk down more money for these pro controllers and people who would rather customize their setups with a few different controllers. Did I hear somewhere that the NI controller was rumored to be 200 dollars? If so I think we have a winner. two of those with a ddm4k and a firebox would be a great setup for 4 decks and fx.

So for the people who aren't going to be spending the money to buy what we are given it is time to up the diy market.

I'm confused: how is it not feasible?

I've got three USB ports on my laptop, with an Audio 8 DJ and 2x VCI-100 running off it.

What's there to be confused about? First off you're on a pc...fine.

A concern for me is finding room for everything in a club. I'm not saying it can't be done, but lugging all of that plus setting it up, plus being comfortable with everything? I dunno man...

And finally, mapping everything. Making sure that neither unit cross sends information. Nightmare...

Or you just take one unit that does it all. hmmm....

Why is this even being discussed...who cares...

If you don't like the DX then move on and buy 2 or 3 VCIs.

Don't we have enough VCI cheerleaders in this forum..

Grant it there are some specs about the DX that I find irritating...but hell, its the coolest thing to come down the pile in years.

Honestly I'm a bit bored with the VCI after using it for the last
two years straight. We PC users can't even get a straight answer from NI or VESTAX as to why we experience freqent lockups while using the VCI-100 with Traktor...Not to mention a solution to the problem. And even more weird is that the VCI is Traktor certified?...really?

Can we stick to the matter at hand here instead of having a pissing contest?

Now can someone tell me if the "Play" &."Cue" buttons on the DX are
    sqwishy rubber buttons?

    DX ALL THE WAY !!!!!!!!!!!!

You'll be pleased to hear that they're solid plastic.

I would have prefered something metalic like a CDJ button but at least they're not rubber!
