I really don't like the "feel" of touch strips, we've grown up DJing with platter controllers of some sort (vinyl, CDJs) the tactility makes a lot of sense, maybe some sort of largish "mouse wheel" makes more sense, music waveforms flow left to right, and minor adjustments could be made in a left or right nudge, largish movements with the hands and smaller movements with your fingertips.

While making sense in my head, I think they'd look "future" enough for people

I've grown up with decks/platters/jogs etc and I don't think I'll ever want to play solely without them on a controller or at least not all of the time but I soon took to the touch strips on the X1MK2. You can get used to them really quickly.

So what you are saying is that the next S4 will have both jogs and touch strips??!!

I agree 100% though. I didn't like my first Ableton set up purely because I felt weird not having jog wheels. It's like I need them purely as a comfort blanket. Having them doesn't mean I use them to any great extent but just knowing they are there is comfort enough. Having said that my favourite controller now and for a long time is my X1.

Ok I've just deleted all posts relating to that stupid 42" screen.

Please fellas we know how this ends, it's just messy. That joke sailed a long time ago.

For those of you that haven't been around here long enough to remember - the 42" DJ screen became the bane of the moderators lives and most members got thoroughly sick to death of it being posted, reposted in every thread so we have a 'zero tolerance' attitude to it now.

Now I think *you* know I have a track record for being a goofball on this forum dude.

We've had this 42" crap 3 times this month. I had to delete 4 posts on it just today. It would only get out of hand.

It's all good Karlos. I just get in "smartArse" mode after getting a few cocktails in me. Please forgive me.

    Back on topic,

Maybe replacing the S4's jog sides with F1's, but then putting the X1mk2 touch strip above the pads. So, the buttons dual function as Remix Decks and the standard S4 fair (Like on the S4mk2 with it's rainbow buttons).

This would give it... 8 faders and the 4 channel mixer also. It'd look like the Megazord's genitalia but boy would it kick some ass.

Also throw in the pads from Maschine as opposed to the F1's clickers... *drool*
