Cheers mate! I'm not scratch dj but I like to throw a bit scratching samples on top of effects. I would use it mostly as CNTRL:R support for pitch banding and jogwheel effects.

I assume the jogs are nice and if SO this is a great value.

I would say the point that makes or breaks this for me is one specific thing about the LC-1: if the knobs at the top can automap to device racks or macro racks in Ableton the way the APC 40's lower bank does, I would buy it as soon as it is available. like, within seconds. That's really the only reason I keep the APC 40 around right now. It's just so much less convenient because of the need for external power... the LC-1 the potential to do everything I need an APC 40 to do with a beautifully compact footprint. If it can't do what I mentioned, in some form or another, it's really not that special. I hope it is though. I really, really hope it is.

While it probably won't be supported out of the box, I'm certain someone will create a Live Device script for it. Basically: It will happen, probably quickly.

I used the LC-1 at the show.

I personally have been working hard on my own Ableton live performance sets and use a combination of MIDI controllers including the APC40, Launchpad, Korg Kaoss Pad, and etc.....

and checked it's ability map on-the-fly with no problems. It's not automapped or anything....but it's nothing a few mouse clicks can't solve. I used it control drum racks as well clip launching without any issues in Live 8.

    Hope it helps....

Nem0nic, you need to get these recalled! There's a mistake on the studio 4a, it says "Scratch" instead of "Flux"

No... I meant that Nemonic said he had some secret about the DC-1 that was going to make it actually relevant...

Im pretty sure its the fact that you can use all of the midi-fighter mappings as they are, without any further mapping or adjustments.

Although I am interested in knowing which buttons on the DC-1 will act as the bank buttons that are the top row of the midi-fighter in the instant gratification mapping.
