yea u could use that, that is basically a ribbon strip, they just called it a softpot... there u go, didnt know they called them softpots now... ud just need to find a board or chipset that convers the signal to midi, like the one in the midifighter. you would also have to make sure the strip impedance is compatible with the board.

yea like someone said above, it works just like a potentiometer, so u would just have to check if the ribbon is the right impedance plug it into the appropriate part of the board.

basically all midi DIY kits have heaps of analogue inputs. Im pretty sure 10ohm is pretty standard impedance aswel, so you shouldnt run into too many problems setting it up.

Only problems you may have is if you buy a complete DIY board with no firmware, then you will have to program the firmware and midi conversion yourself, which is a pain in the ass, and u can only do it through windows. so see if u can find a board with some kind of firmware already on the chipset.

If you own a mac, you can purchase the magic track pad like I did. It works wonders and it is wireless bluetooth, so you can place it anywhere near you rig.

Anyone know if I can plug in two turntables to the T1 and use it for Traktor Scratch? That would be sweet! I could play my vinyl and use TSP with internal mixer at home, and just take the T1 out to gigs. Please tell me it does...

Traktor has no slip mode . Thats an ssl feature isnt it.
Slip Mode gets requested quite a lot and gets some love. I think it's pretty cool

I've mapped a Traktor "Slip Mode" and I was pretty sure that it was software related just checking if maybe pioneer got that in their version of Traktor LE.

Slip mode like on the Pioneer CDJ-900's and 2000's? ITCH has that? I played with that Allen&Heath controller at a club this weekend, a fellow DJ of mine has it. I wasn't too happy with either the A&H hardware or the ITCH interface. Different strokes for different folks I guess... I wish these Pioneer gadgets came with CDJ-2000 platters, but at least they have proper sized pitch faders (or so it seems). I say the DDJ-T1000 should come with VU meters, and CDJ-2000 platters, 2 phono inputs, built in sound card, 4 channels, loud outputs on the headphone, master, and booth outs, sound quality at the very least on par with a DJM-600, and Traktor Scratch Certified. I don't care how big it is as long as they make a flight case for it. That is what would convert the non-believers. Oh, and the price tag would probably have to be high, but that would only add to its credibility as a "Pioneer Pro DJ" product.
