yea u could use that, that is basically a ribbon strip, they just called it a softpot... there u go, didnt know they called them softpots now... ud just need to find a board or chipset that convers the signal to midi, like the one in the midifighter. you would also have to make sure the strip impedance is compatible with the board.
yea like someone said above, it works just like a potentiometer, so u would just have to check if the ribbon is the right impedance plug it into the appropriate part of the board.
basically all midi DIY kits have heaps of analogue inputs. Im pretty sure 10ohm is pretty standard impedance aswel, so you shouldnt run into too many problems setting it up.
Only problems you may have is if you buy a complete DIY board with no firmware, then you will have to program the firmware and midi conversion yourself, which is a pain in the ass, and u can only do it through windows. so see if u can find a board with some kind of firmware already on the chipset.
