How have people justified their dislike of it to you?
Why do you personally dislike Dubstep?
How do people whom generally listen to "EDM" absolutely hate on Dubstep?
What draws people who don't listen to "EDM" into Dubstep?

It's something I'm trying to understand. As I've evolved from big-beat stuff from the 90's, through DnB/hardcore, into breaks and house, and ever since 2007 I've really been into Dubstep. But as I begin to mix more, I know I love it, but I keep hitting the walls of people who just won't give it a fair chance.

Maybe it's hipster to not like Dubstep since its too mainstream? I don't know.

    What do you guys think?
I've been into edm since the mid to late nineties (DnB/Florida Breaks and trance and progressive) and I can say that the real dubstep (read not the skrillex type stuff) I can enjoy quite a bit, I just don't know where to find any/what labels make the stuff. Though it just doesn't make me want to get down and shake my ass like "real Dance music" for lack of a better term...The stuff that is popular really isn't half time dub, it's more like half time breaks so it probably should be called breakstep... It's more of a listening type of sound rather than a dancing sound to me...

    Ding! Fries are done

FWIW, I really do try. I still give it a chance every now and again, because hey you never know, a light may turn on for me one day. I didn't like styles of music once upon a time that I couldn't live without now, so I really do keep the door open, although I do come strong with my opinions.
    Cheers!
