Can't wait!!! Anyone know if they're sending tracking numbers?
I am currently dying right now. This is going to be agonizing for the next few days =\
Hello Everyone, this is my first post in this site. I have been waiting for a few months to purchase my 400 now that is here, I am not sure which one to buy. I do like the EG edition but what happen if I don't really like traktor and rather try other software, what will I need to do to accomplish this? I am not saying traktor is bad or good, just simply saying if I rather use something else. I am also aware of DJTT releasing upgrade package for the regular 400, but it has not been release.
Fresh101, download demos of different software if you can, such as Virtual DJ, Serato Itch, etc. and see which one suits you best. The VCI-400 EGE is tailor made for Traktor, so if you find out you don't like Traktor, don't buy the EGE edition. Also, it has been said that the EGE won't come bundled with the software you get from buying the regular VCI-400.
All in all, if you haven't played around with any DJing software yet, everybody would recommend you to do so before you commit to buying hardware.
Thanks for your feedback. I have used Itch with my vci-300 and I kinda like it but is limited. I have used VDJ but without a controller and is pretty neat. Now I seen the EGE in video and I love everything you can do with it but just saying, would I have to be limited to just traktor or can I just reverse everything back to original and be able to use other software? I don't care if the EGE comes as a bundle or not, what i do know, this baby is "sick". Just don't like to be limited to just traktor.
So my question is, can I reverse the EGE to stock and have everything like the original comes, to be able to use whatever other softwares?
The VCI-400 is still a MIDI controller at heart so you shouldn't have any trouble remapping it to suit your needs. Vestax has their original firmware online, so I am sure you can just reflash it with that to get completely stock settings if the EGE firmware changes that much.
That is the beauty with MIDI, as long as software can understand it, you can reprogram the controller to do anything.
I'm assuming that the EGE will have a special start up mode where you can switch between firmware versions... Similar to the vci-100 se... You may get unexpected results mapping other software if you are booted up with the EGE...
I'm hoping I was one of the first few to order it. Hopefully it will get here in a timely manner. Do you think these will have a limited edition # on it?
Ready for this weapon to arrive!
Will the VCI400 EG EVER be able to be a stand-alone mixer? I read somewhere that firmware update may be on the horizon to allow that. IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE via firmware?
damn..i look in this thread everyday looking for a shipment received pic...yea I'm excited.
anyone gotten passed the "processing order" on their email?
