but dont forget the Denon have engine - IPAD
If it had been designed to stream from an iPad across multiple decks over the link without a laptop they would be revolutionary. The Current integration = more shit to bring along to a gig.

You're not really gaining much space there if you're comparing the size of an iPad to the size of a mbp. Walking into your gig with just your iPod touch and headphones and being able to stream your library directly from the iPod touch would be more along the lines of revolutionary.

Actually I think all you need is a wireless router, no laptop.

Actually you are right - And I humbly stand corrected, but it doesn't play anything from the iPad itself, relying on a USB drive for the music collection. Realistically its just a bigger display for your CD players and lacking waveforms like the CD players.

Someone correct me of course If I'm wrong - Really hoping later versions of the software will improve on this though seeing as its only in the first version, it sure looks like it has super possibilities, especially if:

    A) The Software had realtime Waveform Display for each deck playing as well as coverflow "flip" playlist.
    B) Method of playing directly from iPad via the Wireless network or Docking cable to USB and transmit over link.
    C) Ability to organize all your music, set loops / cues etc.. post gig on the iPad rather than needing a laptop
    D) Edit/save on-the-fly cues/loops and set them up for later gigs in realtime utilizing the players.

You're not really gaining much space there if you're comparing the size of an iPad to the size of a mbp
Are you kidding? - theres even about 30% difference in weight between an iPad and 11' Air, and the Resolution is 4x a macbook pro 13'.

    652g - Ipad
    1.08kg - Macbook Air 11'
    2.04kg - Macbook pro 13'

I for one would kill to have proper post editing and playing available on an iPad and screw bringing a laptop to gigs.

C'mon Denon - do it or Pioneer will be stealing the thunder again. Mixvibes cross is already out for iPad how long before reckordbox is given ipaddability using the same tech. I have no doubt its probably in the pipeline already.

And I mean no disrespect to Denon - just being cruel to be kind

yes Ive been thinking about this for the past couple of weeks ever since watching the AGIpro video. hopefully denon catches on to this before pioneer. i can honestly see the future of cdjs going this way. instead of bringing your laptop or usb stick to a gig you bring your ipad and play from their. its the best of both worlds really, the convenience of having a bigger screen and not having to worry about loosing or ruining your laptop.

Rekorbox = Denon Music Manger (more that five years ago) and now is call Engine (totally new)

If we are new in djing...I am shure, we think this is "jacked from pios line"
Pioneer actually had their first MP3 music management software 'DJ Booth' for the DMP 555 out in 2002, pre-dating Denon's Music Manager by many years.

Right, so instead of spending $3200 on CDJ-2000s or $2000 on CDJ-900s, I spend about $1600 on a pair of these denons and $400 on a bottom-end iPad.

So, it's cheaper than the 2000s and about the same as 900s. And you need a wireless router and lan cables to plug in the denons, right?

I'm honestly not the least bit impressed.

Really? Weird. When I compared the DN-S1000 to the CDJ-200, Pioneer won without any hesitation…I never even looked at the 1200 because it seemed like it was basically the same thing.

That would be kinda sweet. I wonder why nobody's written/ported a DVS for/to the iPad and come out with a sound card built into an iPad case.

    EU:

    CDJ 900 - 1250€ +/-
    SC 2900 - 650€ (probably)

    USA:

    CDJ 900 - 1000$ (you said?)
    SC - 800$

So, you did transfer the price for SC2900, but not for CDJ 900?
As far as I know the price of Denon products is numerically same in € and $.
    I would say 700$ and 650€.
And where did you find CDJ 900 for 1k?

Yep 650 euro i read that rumour too. Maybe 650 - 700 dollars is rather impressive. and you don't need a wireless router, you just don't get to use the ipad. works same as rekordbox only no nice big screen as the 2000 but in a way same screen options as the 900.

And for dj's that have to play a lot of request or have big library's they need to hook up a computer as well to their cdj 2000 to find and search the songs. And what do you need, indeed a router to do that. (so i really don't see the difference)

So maybe the new 2000's will have a build in router, more stuff that can break down.

I already seen a screen die on the 2000. with the denon screen that wouldn't happen that quick.

Behringers UFO allows you to record vinyl into the iPad via USB maybe multichannel is the issue ?
